"August 7 is the hottest day of the week. Tourists and locals in Karlstadt appear in a brooding apparatus this day. We – my wife and I – who travelled to Main for the hiking and birthday party of a colleague have neglected the heat and inactivity. We are migrated – crazy, aren't we? – slower and not so far, only at 11km. In the woods and at the heights around Karlsburg, the barely 40 degrees can be maintained. Shortly fresh in the hotel – and already we go with Sahara-Dirst and enthusiastic appetite on the main road. Here meets the restaurant restaurant, all with street gastronomy under inviting umbrellas. It is plump under the parasols, everything moves to cool drinks. We finally find a free table at Da Franco. Ristorante Italiano offers drinks and typical Italian dishes on the ground floor of a beige pink house on the main street 32. The house, multi-storey and renovated, fits into the medieval cityscape. In front of the house, on the Karlstadter Flaniermeile mostly square dark brown tables with surrounding comfortable chairs, seat and back plastic braided and also dark brown invite you to stay. What's in the guest room? I can't write about it. We didn't enter him. It is so hot and the body stores liquid like a sponge. We sit the evening over cozy and relaxed in an ambience we rate with all the above, with three and a half stars. Service We need to wait a while after we have taken place. The lady to serve us has a lot to do, and it is tropical warm. Finally, she finds the way to our table, handing over the menus and records for the first two white beers each 2,80 € . She is consistently friendly, gives us tips when you choose food, later asks whether it tastes. After the appetizer she gives us the choice if we want to eat another, a wink. During the evening the lady is supported by a gentleman, apparently the boss, at the service. We also observe a longer waiting period after occupancy with two young people on the side table, which already appear unstoppable. The no longer appropriate waiting period is no exception. We therefore reduce the otherwise good impression of the service to three and a half stars. The menu, supplemented with a daily menu, lists the typical dishes for Italians. An extract of the menu presents Da Franco on his websites. Pizzen is available in three different sizes: 24, 28 and 32 cm in diameter. The dishes are in the usual, rather even cheaper. My better half decides for Ravioli with mushroom filling in sage butter with rocket hood and Parmesan plan 9,80 €, and I order spaghetti “Aglio e Olio” con peperoncino €7.90 . Before we both want to have a salad, and here the serving lady wants to bring us a small insalata “Nostromo” different salads with tuna onion, Artich I worry about my desire to get rich and value to the great execution of 8,50 € under the incomprehensible views of my wife. Further feed on cool Franconian beers shortens the waiting time. It does not take long, and the service lady balances a large rectangular plate, loaded with a salad tower and a tuna hood on our table: the Insalata “Nostromo”. At least literaryly migrated seems to be the name of the salad, he calls it according to the title character Nostromo Bootsmann in the homonymous novel by Joseph Conrad. We'll share the salad. In addition to the annon-cited ingredients, we also find paprika cubes, carrots, corn grains, boiled eggs and tomato quarters. We season slightly with pepper and salt and the ordered balsamico and olive oil. A bowl with fresh baguette accompanies the salad. The salad is crispy and fresh, the baguette is crispy outside. Tastefully there is nothing to complain. We are very well saturated when the salad plate is empty. Don't worry about drunkenness? The eyes were bigger than the belly. We need a fool. No problem for service, we should give a sign if we want more food. After a while we ask for the continuation, and after a short waiting period the lady of the service brings us the primi piatti. A strong garlic odor disappears over our table. The spaghetti “Aglio e Olio” con peperoncino radiates the Knobi fragrance. A beautiful part of the spaghetti blade on my plate, garnished with parsley. The noodles are perfectly cooked, hot and al dente. The Aglio e Olio mixture is exactly to taste, crispy and sharp. I can give the spaghetti an excellent one. My wife is also very happy with the ravioli with the rose filling in sage butter with rocket and Parmesan Plank. However, it complains about too much butter in which the ravioli floats, and Rucolastgel, which should be removed better because of their hardness before dressing. The rich fresh parmesan helps to tie the butter. My antagonists appreciate the food as very tasteful, well prepared and awards four stars. Four and a half stars are therefore justified for main food and salad. The cleanliness tables, dishes and cutlery are clean. We didn't use the toilets and didn't see the inside. We evaluate cleanliness in the outdoor area well. The price-performance ratio Here are four stars justified: more than good and plentiful food, the service well with small shine. Conclusion We still raise the liquid content in our bodies with one or the other Frankenpils at 0.4 l for 2,50 €, 0.3 l for 2 €. At Franco we are looking forward to return and recommend the Italian troops in Karlstadt."

"Our last night in Karlstadt. With our friendly couple, we agreed at the restaurant of the Hotel Mainpromenade, just like seven years ago. In my earlier criticism I described the very pleasant ambience of the hotel and above all the restaurant's outdoor restaurants: idyllic, directly on the main bank with views of Karlsburg, small, hotel beer garden and spacious terrace, shaded by ancient and powerful trees. Our friends have reserved at high summer temperatures on this 24th. August a four table on the terrace. Hotel Mainpromenade – Terrasse I Hotel Mainpromenade – Terrasse II Two ladies serve us the evening. They make their job largely routined, and they are kind. They ask for our satisfaction and are attentive to the clearing of empty dishes and reorders. However, one of the ladies confuses the ordered beef roast with the also ordered deer roast and insists on demand in their view of things. The supplements, however, give us an opposite view, which is underpinned when the meat is consumed. This gives a point drop, but four stars still remain for the otherwise error-free service. One of the ladies gave us the menus. The menu offers, like seven years ago, vegetarian dishes, steak, carving, fish and wild dishes, soups and salads in various variations and seasonal dishes in the season menu. Despite high summer temperatures, we choose all “autumn/winter dishes”. My dearest and our friend choose – beef cakes in strong red wine sauce, fried napkin dishes and green beans €21.90, where the original supplements to the beef bags, namely potato risotto and glazed carrots, are exchanged for the above supplements after consultation with the kitchen. Our friend wishes – beef roasts in strong red wine sauce, fresh mushrooms, homemade late zle and salad €16.90, and I choose – beef roasts from domestic hunting with mushrooms in red wine sauce, homemade late zle and apple red cabbage €20.50. We start with – Bad Brückenauer Wasser “Gourmet” 0,75 l to 4,60 € – Bright, Duke of Franken 0.4 l to 3,60 € – Mohrle – Yeast wheat with Cola 0.4 l to 4,30 €. During the evening, some wines and other mineral water – Riesling, Bürgerspital Würzburg, 2018, dry, mature, soft in taste, balanced acidity, The euphemistically described and expectations of Arnsteiner Wasser, however, turns out to be an ordinary table water. In the following, the courts of our friends are only judged on the basis of their comments. There is no greeting from the kitchen, quite quickly the main dishes come after our order. Grape cakes in strong red wine sauce, fried napkin dishes and green beans The ladies are completely satisfied with their choice. The beef bags are so delicate that they can be easily divided with the fork. You taste the long season in the perfectly matched, spicy red wine sauce. The napkin panes are fried crispy, but soft and fluffy inside. The green beans are well seasoned and taste very good. Deer roast from local hunting with mushrooms in red wine sauce, homemade latency and apple red cabbage The hot roast is very well prepared, soft, no bit tough. The red wine sauce with mushrooms cannot deny its vinophilic origin and fits perfectly with the wild dish. The apple cabbage has the slightly acidic taste I prefer. The Spätzle are perfectly cooked, with the red wine sauce they taste excellent. Beef roast in strong red wine sauce, fresh mushrooms, homemade late zle salad to beef roast Our friend is very happy with his beef roast and the side salad. A good meal requires a degree. My friend and I can go with a Karlstädter – Zwetschgenbrand from Kraft from Mühlbach 2 cl to 3,50 € , and our friend will enjoy a – Cappucchino 3,30 € . The ladies' toilet is well maintained and clean, as my dearest tells. We consider the price/performance ratio to be good in view of the good preparation of foods and the substantially favorable beverage prices. In contrast to the assessment of seven years ago, we see an improvement in the conclusion. The service is not yet 100% round, but the performance of the kitchen convinces. We stay with our former recommendation: a visit to the restaurant of the Hotel Mainpromenade is worthwhile."

"Again very hot in Karlstadt on 12. August – 33 degrees. A visit to the castle park Veitshöchheim and a boat tour from there to Würzburg preferred the sweating and hiking around Karlstadt. The air-conditioned transport train takes us from Würzburg to Karlstadt – and now we go back to the main road to get a place under the umbrellas of the numerous restaurants. We can land at Fehmelbauer. The Ambience Zum Fehmelbauer invites you to stay in Karlstadter Hauptstraße 22 in a multi-storey, stylishly renovated semi-storey house. The ocher-colored compartments are in a pleasant contrast to the brown lacquered bars. A maidonna and a nasal sign decorate the front of the inn. In front of the house guests are served in the pedestrian zone under parasols. They sit on beer garden tables and on chairs with seat cushions. The decor appears more noble than the beer garden usual. We can only judge the atmosphere from outside. We weren't in the guest room. As with other restaurants in the main street, which we only met from outside the gastronomy, we value again with three and a half stars. The service A friendly lady takes us quickly to know after we have set ourselves and takes the first drinks: mineral water (1.90 € of the quarterliter) and land beer (2.80 € halflit). She'll serve us all night. She's doing a good job. Nevertheless, we must make traces when evaluating the service. The operation takes up our food order at about 20:30, while a young man already depends on slate boards with daily offers on the house wall. We make the kitchen now, fast, our lady comments quickly. It's too hot in the kitchen. Also for other waiting guests, hoppladihopp will pick up the order. However, the kitchen time usually ends only about an hour later. Finally, the preferred kitchen closure leads to my plate being removed from another actuating force without comment, although I still consume the remaining additional salad. I guess you want to wash the dishes quickly. If we rated the service with four stars without the Fauxpas, it is now only three – with every understanding of the heat-cured kitchen team. Franconian dishes are offered in all kinds of variations. In addition, the map lists vegetarians, steaks, schnitzel, fillets of pig and salads in various variations. If you like to eat fish, don't go empty. Seasonal is usually found on the day ticket. Everything is at the price level for Karlstadt. On the website of the Fehmelbauer, which is connected to Gastroguide, you will find an extract from the menu. My wife and I choose – Zanderfilet grilled with fresh paws on fetucchine and salad to €15.80 each. The first thirst is deleted, my wife leaves water and goes to the Karschter Flaak Silvaner, dry (3rd € of the five wire). It is served quickly and well tempted. A little later, the serviceman will bring us the salad. Leaf salads, marinated carrots, raw carrots, radishes, corn and rocket are prepared with a yogurt dressing and crowned by a few drops of Aceto Balsamico. The salad is crunchy and fresh, the dressage and a subsequent pinch of salt and pepper give the appropriate seasoning. We don't wait long for our main foods. Three ordinary zander fillets, melted and baked on the skin, framed by a good part of delicate brown fried plums, cover the Fetucchine noodle bed. The Zander is beautifully crispy outside, juicy inside and very tasteful. The Fetucchines are tasted in parsley butter and taste very good. For the season both fish and noodles we add salt and pepper. The food has cost, another Karschter Flaak Silvaner, dry for my better half and a pilgrim of the barrel (2.60 € for 0.4 l) for me form the end of the evening with a digestive snack, a **** fire (2. € for 2 cl). The food is delicious and professionally prepared. We have nothing to do and therefore forgive four stars and the note well. Cleanliness of cleanliness is not on our table. Whether this applies to the guest room and the toilets, we cannot judge because we were not there. With these limitations four stars and a good one for cleanliness. Price-performance ratio We take the service and food as the most important factors for the assessment of the price performance ratio, so that we the fehmelbauer in this category at three and a half stars, i.e. between o.k. and well. The completion of the locals recommended us to visit the fehmelbauer. When we go, we know why. We have eaten well and are very satisfied. We recommend Zum Fehmelbauer and rate a total of three and a half stars with a strong tendency to four stars."
