Abbey of the Roses

The Abbey has lots of historical character and charm. We stayed two days/nights and had booked breakfast and dinner as part of the package. Dinner is held in the old chapel room, now set up as a dining area. It was freezing cold. Everyone was...sitting at their tables in their winter jumpers and jackets to keep warm on both evenings. The second night, the chicken dish could only be described as inedible and as the full plates were taken back to the kitchen there was little if any concern expressed by the waitress. On a bus tour of us enjoyed a tour of the Abbey of the Roses, we had wonderful commentary of its history and were enthralled by its beauty, time run out before we had time to wander it's beautiful gardens but it was incredible...what has been done to restore it to its former beauty.

Wow! What an amazing experience. Such an elegant old building with a great history. Beautifully decorated and furnished. We had dinner and breakfast included in our package. The dining experience was good and the hosts were awesome. Beautiful grounds to stroll around.
