At Plumber Manor - Reservar una mesa

We made a reservation the day before for my birthday dinner. When we arrived, we initially felt a bit underdressed compared to the local patrons, but we were warmly welcomed by the staff and owners of the Manor. We had plenty of time to peruse the menu and wine list. Our starters, scallops and a trio of mushroom parcel, were excellent. We opted for the beef Wellington for our main course, which had a minimum order of two. This was a new experience for us, but we were impressed with the portion size, two potato dishes, spinach, and hollandaise. We went for lunch on a Sunday and thought the location was fantastic. However, we were disappointed with the overall experience. The food was just average, which was a letdown considering our high expectations. Sorry!

The menu was extensive and the wine list excellent. The food was of good quality and well cooked, but played safe and harked back to earlier decades which, of course, is absolutely fine if that is what you want.

We visit Dorset several times a year and always visit Plumber, it’s become tradition and there is no place like it. Just special.

This restaurant is fantastic for dining. The food and service were both exceptional. I highly recommend it for a special dinner.
