my friend is a regular and after our children's art class we came here early lunchtime. it is a man and woman team that runs the small restaurant so obvious when it is full, it can wait for eating as she runs the front of the house and he is the only cook but today it was just us and my son and I tried her pad se ew that was a more generous part for the price, but I found it a bit tad sweet. nothing cool powder can not repair! but I tried some of my friends seafood and basilikum dish that came with rice was beautiful and spicy. I think I'll get the next time or try another dish in their menu.
the place looks like it's not going anywhere from outside and there's only one dame that sees that it's the only one that works there. menu also looked a little uninteresting, but I'm glad it wasn't. I ordered lunch special chili basilikum huh with rice and it was incredibly delicious! kinda reminds me of the food she serve at spicy iam. chicken pieces were upper legs, but it was perfectly cooked with delicious and spicy taste. I come back to try other dishes when I'm in the next one!
I think they should correct the address, it should be 69 oxford st. when I lived in syd many years ago, this was one of my fave Thai restaurants and revisited the place before 2 wks only brought back all the great memories and tastes. they always came here for lunch and ordered their lunch specialties. loved the kway tiao (both fried and w/ gravy), the fried chicken rice (nr. 8) with the special chili is still dying.
Its my dad fav place. He always order the lunch special no 1 without sweet because he does not like sweet and they use a bit of sugar in it, while me and mom always order no 8 with extra egg! U have to be patient because they only have 1 waiter and I guess that she is the owner. But overall I love this place! Oh btw, their Tom Yum Soup is a must!!
