Cafe Del Rio - Reservar una mesa

I have been to Texas a number of times on business, but this is the first opportunity I had to try some real Tex-Mex food so I was excited to try this place. The decor and atmosphere I would give 5 stars. Unfortunately I was not super knowledgeable of their menu which was extensive and a little overwhelming. So I ordered the dish that I posted photos of which was kinda a sampler. It tasted good but I think there was just too much fried food and cheese for my liking because I had serious heartburn all night. The food was ok. As far as Mexican food goes it’s very bland and not at all spicy. I assume they are cooking it for the demographic. The salsa that comes with the complementary chips is the biggest disappointment. It’s kinda like ketchup. It’s a nice place, good decor but the food is nowhere near authentic TexMex. I’ll skip it from now on.

We were passing thru and decided to stop here. Unfortunately, we didn't like anything about it. The food wasn't good. It was higher priced than the Mexican restaurants we typically visit. That would have been fine,if the food was worth it.

Good Mexican food. And you can get fresh, hot tortillas before you order. They have butter honey on the table for the tortillas.
