"I had a meeting in Bondi Junction, so I opened up my handy entertainment app to find a place where I could use a voucher. I enjoy saving money with discounts. Calabur Cafe Diner is situated on Jump Street in a quiet area. It has a charming atmosphere and was completely empty on Saturday morning until we left."

The service at this restaurant was extremely poor and the prices were overpriced. The staff were too busy to give us menus or take our orders promptly. It took a long time for our food to be served - my friend and I waited almost an hour for our meals. Another friend had to wait an hour for his coffee, despite reminding the staff multiple times. When my coffee finally arrived, it was served too hot and I had to wait at least 20 minutes for it to cool down. I had to ask the waiter about my food, but he forgot my question and never came back. When I told them I would cancel my order and leave without eating, they advised me that my meal would be...

Out in the boon docks of Bondi Junction, a good five-minute walk from the Westfield, you don’t expect to find a little Asian-fusion treasure. Calabur’s café breakfast menu is typical Bondi. There’s kale and spinach smoothie bowls, spelt and honey banana bread, and fruit-laden granola. Meanwhile, lunch brings things like chicken skewers, spicy pulled pork burgers and vermicelli noodle salads. But, my favourite is the sophisticated, tapas-style dinner menu. I love the pork and chive gyoza, the pulled pork sliders, the peri peri chicken tacos – in fact, there’s not a lot I don’t love. Everything’s fresh, delicious and art on a plate.

The portion sizes are not generous, but the dishes are nicely presented. The service can be a bit slow, especially for larger groups, as the cafe is small. The taste is good, but some dishes may be a bit overpriced for their size. The staff does come back to check on other dishes. My favorite was the magical Asian noodle salad with raw tuna.

This is a nice cafe serving Asian fusion brunch dishes. The menu for breakfast/lunch is not as extensive as the one on Zomato. I had the yellow bowl (laksa with egg noodle, chicken and 63degree onset egg) which was really delicious and perfect for a cold winter morning. I would order that one again. The coffee was alright.
