My husband Tom I have to thank the many reviewers on Trip Advisor who gave such outstanding and detailed summaries of their experience at C'est la vie. Our evening there was simply wonderful. The restaurant is small (seats about 65) has an open kitchen,...has been recently and very tastefully renovated in a simple yet elegant style. It's been open for 3 1/2 years. We were greeted by Dior who speaks English with a lovely South African lilt, as well as French and German. She was a delightful guide to the menu and offered excellent suggestions. C'est la vie is by a wide margin the best fine dining restaurant in Leipzig that I have been to. We've been to Falco (2 Michelin Stars), which was at most a 1 Star performance. Granted, we were at Falco between Christmas and New Years...Eve, when the A Team in restaurants tends to be on vacation We have been to just about every highly-rated restaurant in Leipzig. Max Enk (good wines, but just OK food), Mifune (novice, if not incompetent, Teppanyaki), etc. Sadly, there aren't a great many fine dining choices in Leipzig. We really enjoyed out night here. Service was impeccable. Wines were heavily French influenced and a bit pricey. You really couldn't fault anything. It was an extremely warm evening and with no a/c it was a bit uncomfortable. It looks to be a strong contender...to getting a Michelin star.
