Gateway Cafe - Reservar una mesa

Ordered pancakes with bacon, maple syrup and blueberries. So much syrup that the bottom pancakes turned to mush instantly and was really disappointed they were for microwave packet pancakes. Little bit cheeky to be honest asking for that much money for something that...took very little effort bar the bacon. Mostly microwaved as food turned up before the coffees did. Husbands eggs benedict, again nearly very small. Asked for a refund on the pancakes. Would maybe go for coffee if passing but food no chance. Think they’re taking the p out of people. Waiting staff were LOVELY and super helpful and polite. They rescued this place

Hadn't intended to stop for more than a snack but the tempting menu offered so much choice that it was difficult to resist what I expected to be a slightly bigger snack. I had the Eggs Norwegian and it was really nice and lots of...it. Inevitably there was a bit of a wait because the café was very busy, but with the lovely views out across the lake, with the various water birds feeding, it didn't seem too long.

We arrived to a very busy cafe and placed our orders. Whilst waiting for the order we read the latest reviews on Facebook and discussed doing a runner as they were so negative. When the coffee arrived it was the best cappuccino l have had...since being in the uk. The food arrived shortly afterwards which too was great. Lovely outlook and service was good too.

Busy cafe but seated immediately. My coffee was half full, the other half was foam, however this was rectified. The poached egg was half cooked and cold, lumps of avocado rather than it being mashed. My husbands poached eggs were also cold! Not sure we...will return.

The Gateway has undergone a remarkable transformation for the better. The food is consistently fresh and expertly prepared, especially the pizzas. The addition of the outdoor bar and Bedouin tent has been a welcome touch.
