The inside of the restaurant can feel a bit cramped, but if you don't mind being outdoors, there’s a parklet just outside the doors and a greenway a block or two to the east where you can find plenty of space. My mom and I agree that the coffee here is the best in town, though I usually opt for the hot chocolate instead. Everything is served quickly and has a delightful sweetness. Food: 5/5.

Have been to Hal's Office on Solano Ave about a million times with my wife. We love the great quality of coffee and also the barista's expertise, which indeed makes a difference. Their empanadas and quiches are also delicious. It'd be awesome if they opened until a little later into the early evening. This is one of the best cafes in the East Bay in my opinion.

They just opened today, and I had an amazing muffin. The staff was friendly, and the place was very clean. While they are still getting everything set up, they seem ready to succeed. Updated for 2023: they have definitely thrived! Hal's has become the vibrant, highly caffeinated hub of Albany! Their evening wine bar selection is outstanding! Food: 5/5

Great place for really good coffee! I’ve gotten their cinnamon and star anise latte a few times and it is delicious. I asked for the recipe to make the syrup, which they gave me and were really happy to hear that it was one of the best coffee drinks I’d ever had. Highly recommend this place! Reserva una mesa ahora

This is a fantastic spot for just about everything! Whether you want to relax or get some work done, it’s perfect. The staff is wonderful and consistently friendly, and the coffee is outstanding! You can choose to sit outside or indoors and soak up the lovely community atmosphere.

I love the whole look and feel of this locally owned gem. I asked if the magnificent table Nook (with chandelier) can be reserved for customer meetings. So, basically, I called Dibs. Bonus: You can entertain your children with the yogurt shop next door.

The drip coffee has delicate floral notes that are hard to pinpoint, but the flavors are incredibly addictive. I enjoyed it with oat milk, and it was absolutely delicious. Just so you know, the 12 oz L-cup costs $4 now. Reserva una mesa ahora

I'm really excited about the parklet! Please bring back the dog biscuits. I love the coffee, chai, and pastries, and the staff is very friendly.
