"Had pastor cakes with mined peas for lunch for £16.00. The shepherd cake was so small that I was hungry. The garden of peas were not even degraded. A total demolition. Save your money and go somewhere else."

Cant exactly put my finger on it but just did not enjoy my experience. Wanted to have an evening meal so told at the bar to find a table then order. Which I did, could not have a tab so had to order two drinks...and food pay and sit down. Real ale selection was poor in my opinion (no regular ales) which I asked the bar person for their opinion which they did not have one, and the beer was not to my liking so a wasted second pint too. Food was not brilliant and had to ask for condiments after food was served. Got the idea staff were, ore interested in speaking with themselves at the bar.

Menu looked ok, chose the burger with Stilton. You wouldn't know it had seen a stylon. We were asked if we wanted some sauces before we got the food, how do you really know? Not even as much as a piece of tomato for shrimp, or anything in the burgers, other than the burgers that were fair was nice, though rather small. It looked pretty lost on the plate, and uninteresting, you can't run a tab. Chips were nice! Didn't worry about Dessert when we thought we were disappointed again. Definitely overpriced.

I visited a few times with friends because they liked so much that they wanted to return. Its pub atmosphere with a reasonable selection of drinks, but what we especially enjoyed was a selection of appetizers that we ate in tapas style between...us . the quality and variety was excellent and we will go back when in the middle of Thame . Not a gastropub, but the quality would be ashamed of some upmarket food. The staff was a but variable, but generally pleasant and helpful.

We arrived at opening time on a Sunday lunchtime for a family catch up. We had 5 adults and 3 children in our party. There was no specific children's menu, but half size portions of the main Sunday menu. Chicken schnitzel was a popular choice...along with roast beef dinner. Food was lovely and enjoyed by all. Puddings were also great! My only small niggle would be there was quite a wait from ordering before receiving our food, both for main courses and puddings.
