Local Public Eatery

I’ve been driving by this place daily for years. I went in today while I was waiting on my seasonal tire change Canadian Tire (took them 2.5 hours, so I was there for a while). Great place, inside and out, it has a very cool, rustic, yet chic decor. Great ambience as well, mix between casual pub and sports bar, decent music played at a reasonable level. Can’t wait to go in the summer (the upstairs area converts into a rooftop patio, Jackson showed me around). I had the Caesar salad, it was amazing, they use some kind of mild spice and Panko and crispy capers for added crunch. The Parmesan peels were a nice touch as well. Very unique and delicious. Usually a go to for brunch, great cesars! Last time I ordered though I wasn't able to order brunch over the phone or online as the brunch menu wasn't an option on the site for takeaway. The hostess was friendly and understanding. I went into the restaurant to order and spent $50 and sadly it was burnt. Super disappointing because I was raving about it. I took photos as the meat was completely burntbitter and charred. Hoping to go back but maybe to dine in to avoid not being able to take it back.

Walked in to a mostly empty rooftop patio, staff made eye contact then ignored us completely. So we sat ourselves down. Someone took our drink order, 10 minutes later drinks are nowhere to be seen and bartenders are just standing around the bar doing nothing. I never want to come here again.

I’ve been coming to Local Leaside since they opened. Love this location because it’s personal and intimate compared to the downtown location. The food is incredible and the servers are the friendliest.Shoutout to the manager Evelyn for taking care of my friends and I. Reserva una mesa ahora

While the food and service are superb, I am in a wheelchair and my contact there LIED to me about the accessibilty and the washroom. This deceit should be criminal. He wanted only to get my money. Now he gets my rathe. I should have pissed on the floor

Don't order the Local special Ceasars. Way too salty. Server quickly replaced with standard Ceasar. Even their standard Ceasars weren't great. I think it must have been their Ceasar mix or Clamato.

Awesome location. The pub is well decorated and spacious. Service and food are excellent. The best smashed burger without a dog. Very good variety of beers as well.
