Nice casual ambiance with a potential for a neighborhood feel. Servers don't give the impression of being interested in the customer. Rushed service with long gaps in between courses. We waited 20 minutes only to receive the dessert menu. The appetizer and one of the...desserts was good. The main courses in the prix fix menu did not stand out. Had the form of good food but not the flavor. Could be richer, spicier something with more of a statement. It could be a Swiss serveur issue, but there is no harm in making a genuine connection with the diner--connection being defined as more than 5 secs of time.
Lokal is a small restaurant sitting on a quiet corner screened by high hedges where dining outside is encouraged. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. We shared a beef tartare to start, followed by fish in a curry sauce and marinated chicken plus puds.. strawberry and cherry cake and soaked fruits. All of it was delicious. There's a reasonable selection of wines. The price was, to us non-Swiss, expensive, but we have come to realise and accept that prices are indeed higher than at home. A lovely meal and, as such, value for money.
local was only a few steps away from our hotel (hotel jardin) and was recommended by the hotel. we had a delicious dinner there (required reservations) some had pasta, other fish everything was excellent. also Swiss weine were on the menu and. the desserts were great. our group of five was happy that we left.
