Lovejoy's Tea Room

This had been on our SF bucket list for a long time and finally went there with my wife and 3 years ago over the winter holidays. It was worth waiting. When you go in, it feels like the British tea culture was sprayed over the walls. You can’t really avoid seeing some memories no matter where you look, and it’s pretty over the top awesome. You have an elaborate but not overwhelming menu of different combinations with different teas, hearty finger sandwiches (with the crust naturally cut off), pastries, fruits and everything you can imagine for teatime. When you want to indulge in a high tea anglophile fantasy, book a tea service for two or with the whole family. The shepherd's pie is extreme comfort food eating as sport! The cream tea comes with a warm scone, fruit, clotted cream, jam and a fragrant pot of tea. Indulgent and so British, with a San Francisco accent. Support this neighborhood tea room and meet some amazing locals and staff. The Attic across the street sells vintage bone china, tea wares from the 30's, 40's and bagged tea to take home. Overall, a delight.

Had a nice high-tee experience with my friends. We were lucky to reach the opening hours on Saturday and get a walkable table because the tables fill out quite quickly. The selection of finger sandwiches and tea is excellent. We chose Queen's tea package, with two sandwiches of our choice and groundless pot of tea. Black currant tastefully and our favorite was the cucumber and tea finger sandwich. Desserts at the end were also nice.

My husband and I have the Queen's tea service. Everything was delicious and fresh. I enjoyed it all, but the scone with the cream and canned food that came with it were excellent. I also enjoyed the ambience and the furnishings. We had a nice time! Would definitely go back.

Super cute place with amazing tea choices and sandwiches. Would strongly recommend to get the queen tea and sit inside, although the outside is quite good to!!!!
