It was our first visit to Würzburg and I did not know where to go for a good romantic dinner. We got a recommendation to go to a discreet restaurant in a historic vineyards Stein and Juliusspital. When we arrived, we were charmed by the place itself from the very beginning, an amazing view of the city and the Main River took us speech for a while. We ate at night so the view was lights but what a view. And we had a degustation-style menu - pricey but worth it for a special occasion. If you are a plain food person, don't go for that- check the menu.Each course was beautifully presented and tasty. The ingredients were presented in an imaginative way - sometimes prepared in a way that I hadn't seen before & combined in unusual ways.There is an excellent wine list. One in particular (I didn't get the name) is a white - slightly cloudy and from a first pressing. A special place to take a special person. I was there for business but my other half would love it. The Am Stein is on a hill on the edge of town, about a 25 minute walk from our Novotel base, at the foot of the vine covered slopes that are part of the same enterprise. In good weather, dining is on the terrace that offers a vista across Wurzburg. This is a fine dining restaurant.On Mondays, there is a fixed three course menu, and it is that which we had. Went there on a Monday, where they had their so called "Easy Monday" Menu: 3 courses for less than 40 EUR p.p.While at this price you can not expect to be dazzled and have the "real" Michelin Star level, their level shined through in every aspect! Even the chicken main dish was something different.Truly a very special place, at this rate UNBEATABLE and had we had the time, we would have come back again for the (not so easy :-) everyday menu. We came to Reissers am Stein while we visited Wuerzburg to see the old Festung and the Residenz. We heard about Reissers and were excited to try it out. Well, the location , the excellent meals and the perfectly matching wine were just devine. With a beautiful starter and an even better main course we were already in heaven. What topped it of is, that Bernhard Reisser took the time to great us at our table. What a treat ! 5 stars and we will do this again next time. Chapeau . Amber

"Easy monday" is a wonderful option to try out the new place.On mondays menu a la carte is not available and you are served 3 course dinner with wein combination or without.We had delicious dinner in a very relaxed cosy atmosphere) this is all you can dream of in the end of the year :) Main dish was perfect - deer (Hirsch) and Reh ragou. I am looking forward to coming back there for famous summer wein fest and beatiful view over the Wuerzburg castle.

We did a group event with 15 people and had excellent and patient service. Food was great also, creative, locally sourced and delicious. Allergy requests were handled great. Only minus point was that the breaks between courses in the five course menu were a bit long, but a very minor point. Can fully recommend as well for the gorgeous view.

What an experience! We went on a Monday for the Easy Monday prix fixe and it was amazing. The food was gorgeous, delivered by the man himself. The waitress went and fresh printed the menus in English for us, which was a stellar touch. This place was special, and I will remember it forever. Reserva una mesa ahora

I've been up here for eating in the restaurant, and also food/drinks in the outside area. This second option is definitely the better option - the food is standard, but pricey. Having said that, the outdoor seating has amazing views and any excuse to sit here is worth it!

Great wine selections and ability to construct your own menu make this an excellent choice for highest quality food at a price. Sitting outside is a treat as well.
