Restaurant Cafe Du Musee Du

We were headed to the Musee on a Tuesday morning and had been told by some locals that the Tempera Cafe is a MUST... and that they go there regularly to eat. We took a taxi as it was raining and arrived at 10 and toured the Miro exhibit a couple of others and headed to the cafe. It was early (11:45) so we asked the host if we would have a problem getting a table if we came back at 12:30. he said that there were only three table that weren 't booked, so that we 'd probably be shut out then, So... we said we 'd take a table now... and were seated at a private window table! That 's a great start. But... it gets better. The server comes quickly to explain the menu... a choice of three tiers... v...

We were so happy. We made reservations ahead of time; we had read about the concept of the chef. But we were disappointed. The food was not bad, rather it was lacking soul . The concept was creative; some ingredients were fresher than others; I have the impression some dishes had been prepared way ahead of time and had remained in the fridge longer than they should for a restaurant of this category. I wonder if we had been there closer to the preparation of the dishes, maybe I 'd be writing a different review. Some of the tapas within the larger dish were better than the others, but with a great level of unevenness, from the tasty to the uneatable. The setting of the restaurant by the entran...

When we visit annually, we typically eat at the other museum restaurant, and this time we decided to try Tempera. We had made reservations but did not need them. Service seemed spotty and slow for a restaurant that was barely filled. We were started off with a smoothie containing kale and banana and soy milk. The menu is limited to just a couple of dishes. I ordered the ravioli with shrimp because it sounded so good. Well, it was good, but there was only one ravioli. Really? $15 for a single ravioli? Hubby had the pork and the taste was wonderful, but as a side he got half a carrot. Half a carrot! Good selection of wines by the glass. That was the most positive thing.

My husband and I had a great time enjoying a set menu lunch at this fantastic restaurant. The large windows around the tables gave us the feeling of dining outside while being cozy inside. I really liked the comfortable seats made of Quebec wood. The service was also very friendly. Overall, it was a wonderful discovery.

This may be one of the best art museum Restaurants in the world. Wow. So impressed. We were wanting to get a bite to eat and didn’t realize what we were in for. Presentation beautiful in bento box like Plates. Food itself delicious and again a work of art in itself. Overall A+. Thank you For your hospitality.
