My husband and I stayed at Hampton Inn which is just across the street of Romeo's Kitchen and we had dinner there before we left for Vancouver. We had appetizer, soup, and salad. The food was ok.It's not as good as we expected. The waitress kept asking us "Is everything OK?" "How's your food?" I thought she didn't say it sincerely because it sounded like tape-recording to me. She gave us the bill which said it was $44.10. I gave her $100.10 and said "I don't want small changes". What I meant was I wanted $56 without mall changes. Do you know what she did? She took my $100.10 and said "You don't want any changes? Thanks!" and tried to go away. Can you believe that? She wanted $56 for her tip....
Not being very familiar with Kamloops and not wanting to drive too far, I was looking for a good restaurant nearby for our evening meal. I came across Romeo's which was less than a kilometre from our hotel and, after reading the favourable reviews, we decided to give it a try. Good choice. The restaurant was fairly quiet when we first arrived but quickly filled up. We were promptly seated and our server soon arrived to see if we had any questions about the menu. I opted to try the meatloaf and my husband ordered the seafood linguine. Both were excellent choices - lots of flavour and good portions. Service was great - friendly and efficient. We received excellent service from our server, Jeremy. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He brought two small samples of wie so we could chose between two bottles we were contemplating to accompany our Thai dishes. Partner really enjoyed his Laksa but I was a little less enthusiastic about the Panang chicken curry which I had with tofu instead of chicken. It lacked a depth of flavor but that may be due to the substitution. Kitchen is run by Kamloops celebrity chef. The decor is a bit fine dining meets diner and the menu may be trying to do too many things at once since there are a variety of world cuisines represented.
We ate here because it was connected to our hotel. Boy were we in for a pleasant surprise. The menu had a great variety of food types on it and everything we had was excellent. I had salmon cooked in miso and it was as good as any salmon I have eaten. My wife had pad Thai and other than being a little spicy, it was excellent. A person eating a burger next to us said it was great. Don't be put off by it being in a hotel, it is gourmet and at a fair price.

Too far to go into town as only staying one night so decided to stay in hotel. Large restaurant bit on dark side though but had tables out on balcony. Two of us had main course (big portions)atwo beers and one glass of wine $88 including tip.
Meh__Well I ordered the "wild mushroom" soup if it were wild then they did a great job of imitating Cambells Cream of Mushroom soup! I also
Food was v.good but the service was totally unexpected. It would rival any 5 star in Vancouver. When there, make sure you get Heather.
Very good food and excellent service for two hungry travelers. One of the best salads I've had in a while - fresh!

We were lucky to have Romeo's in our hotel in Kamloops, BC for two reasons.
Extremely disappointed in our dining experience last night.
