Tonight I had the pleasure of dining at Taka Japanese Restaurant in Kamloops. Taka is a smaller restaurant tucked away in the corner of the mall next to Save on Foods. The restaurant is small with a modest decor. The menu offers several options for standard West Coast style sushi, as well as several traditional Japanese favorites (there is also a few options of traditional Korean favorites). I've been coming to Taka for several years, whether to meet friends or eat after grocery shopping. I have food allergies and they now carry gluten free Soy sauce. They also create special meals for me based on my limited diet. Then take a photo so they can reproduce it. That, is customer service.
The service here is excellent, very friendly and efficient. Their sushi and sashimi are well prepared and very fresh. They also have a few Korean items on the menu and everything is really tasty. They open at 11:30 and get quite busy around 12:00 as they are fairly close to the University Campus.
Taka has been our family's favorite Japanese restaurant for at least 3years or more. Not sure why it took me so long to do a review. Food is always delicious and fresh. Service is consistently good, staff are always polite. We try other places for Japanese but always return Taka.

Popped in for lunch one busy day this month. We go here often and I also call ahead for take out. It's consistent and delicious. Not a fan of the agedashi tofu as it has too much of the seasoning that makes it too perfumey. But everything else is quite nicely done and reliable.
Went for a business lunch. Service was quick and friendly, food was quick and tasty, overall, everything we needed to eat while talking.. Had the Taka box "C" which was just the right amount of everything to try off the menu.
Every time I've been to Taka the sushi has been perfect. The rice is amazing and the ratio of fish and veggies to rice is on point! Very generous servings. Always super fresh tasting. I'd have a hard time going anywhere else!
A very pleasant surprise to eat lunch here. Food was very good and the price was reasonable. Service was also excellent and I particular like the clean and pleasant interior. Definitely will return for another meal.

Great restaurant - the sushi is always fresh and tasty. The sunnomono salad is very generous and full of flavour. We really enjoy having lunch here when we are visiting Kamloops.
