DC has a lot of good food Zaytinya rises above them all! I moved away from the city a few years ago but came back this week for work. I decided to go to Zaytinya alone for an early birthday dinner and was BLOWN AWAY. I’ve always heard such wonderful things and am so glad I finally decided to investigate for myself. Every restaurant Jose Andrés runs is spectacular, and Zaytinya really does outdo them all. Every course was DELICIOUS. Next time I come I am going to have to bring a group if for nothing else than to get to try more plates. If you go, ask for Lorenzo. Service is top notch. This is clearly one of the go to places in DC. Who's who eats here. But, candidly, the food is good but not great for the price. Go for the experience. But if you're looking for top of the line Mediterranean cuisine at a decent cost, look elsewhere. (for instance, I've had much superior felafel off food trucks) Atmosphere is elegant but not stuffy. Place is loud enough that we had to scream to hear each other.

Outstanding restaurant! Went here with my dad and we shared a meat plate and a salad. Everyone we interacted with was kind and attentive. The food is outstanding too!!
