Yesterdays not so Unique Sunday lunch My friends and I went to lunch and pre warned the restaurant that I was gluten free, so let's discuss that first... Allergies and intolerances are not a fad, for some people it can mean DEATH and as far as I know, there is no coming back from that. For me, eating something like gluten is at worse very uncomfortable AND because of the nature of it means it's hard to write among other things. So, I'm not dead and that has to be good right? I questioned all of the food. No flour, no stock cubes, it is gluten free? My soup was served with bread. My dinner when it eventually arrived had a stuffing ball on it In whose land are bread and a stuffing ball gluten free? Let's move on... My friends were served their food and I had to ask where mine was. The plates were cold The meat was cold No one asked was everything ok No one asked us if we wanted dessert and when M's came it looked like it had been slopped on the plate No dessert for me either, not even fruit They told us there were short on staff when is that our problem? Here's my advice, do not offer gluten, lactose, nut or anything if you cannot carry out your responsibilities properly. Do not offer it if you do not have separate areas in your kitchen. Do not put gluten products on someone's plate.
