We found this place while in Barcelona a couple of weeks ago and stopped for lunch. Firstly the staff were very friendly and accommodating when we swapped tables to get into the sun. The menu was quite extensive and i was quite pleased to find plenty of choice for vegetarians. I had a veggie burger and the rest had a baguette and other things. None of us had any complaints about the food or service at all. We enjoyed it and will definitelty be returning.
Me encontré con algunos amigos después de estar lejos de la ciudad por un tiempo, y este era el único lugar que no sólo hacía tapas que estaba abierto bastante tarde. Siendo británico, me encantan mis sándwiches, así que me complació que ofrecieran más que la habitual aventura de jamon con queso que sueles tener en Barcelona. Fui con una opción vegetariana y mis amigos pidieron sándwiches calientes. Eran muy amables, tengo que decir, pero muy caros por lo que eran. Pagué más de 6 € por lo que era esencialmente una rodaja de pan blanco barato cubierto de pepino y enrollado con relleno vegetal. No creo que el precio esté justificado por un pequeño bocadillo. Las bebidas eran baratas, pero lo esperaría en Barcelona. Nuestra cuenta llegó a unos 28 €, pero se tomó una edad para que la camarera regresara con el cambio, y no puedo evitar sentir que era tal vez con la esperanza de dejar una punta muy sustancial. En general, no puedo decir que estoy disgustado pero hay opciones mejor precio allá afuera que no te dejará con un agujero en tu billetera y tu estómago.
Lived in Barcelona for 7 years, and use to meet friends for a quick bite on Saturday mornings, at this place. Dreadful sandwiches , and service is questionable, as their alternative staff seem too busy playing with their glued on dreadlocks, than bothering to serve customers. Can anyone please explain WHAT that red sauce in ALL their sandwiches are please?! I hear they are due to open an Eyescream and Friends soon..... does the world really need this?
with my wife for a vacation went to baraca.. While exploring Rambla.. We found out this restaurent.. Excellent food with nice young ppl running the show..And i bet they wont be idel even for a sec.. Decent place, nice location.. Free wifi : Must Try : Beer with Nachos... Yummy... If i go barca again, i will visit this place again jus for nacahos ; All the Best..
My husband I were in Barcelona for Mobile World Congress 2013. We were given a map called De Tapes Per Barcelona a beer tapas (tapa y quinto) for 2,40 Euros. This was a special arrangement only for the duration of 21 Feb 3 Mar 2013 and the 6th year this was done (sort of like a US city restaurant week , but for tapas). We decided to try a few of these tapas bars/restaurants on the map (there were over 60 of them). We tried Sandwitch Friends and it was okay. The service was friendly enough and the tapas were okay. We ate at some other tapas bars that were better.
Good for the money and they do take credit cards. Plus, it is close to all the local shops and hotel.
Space was clean and had free WiFi but food is overpriced and of average quality. Lunch for two with drinks was over 20 Euro. Money goes further by heading to a tapas place like Ciudad Codal just up the road and getting flautas at the bar for 1/3 the price.
