Fuimos recomendados por unos amigos, y la experiencia no nos defraudó , el servicio excelente, la oferta muy interesante de carnes y pescados, y el marco en el jardín donde comimos irrepetible. La carta de Vinos no siendo una novela, es muy correcta

Simply disappointing. We came recommended and excited by some press articles listing good restaurants in the province with no Michelin stars, and also to celebrate a birthday. The place is amazing with a pool as well, and a wonderful park where you can eat or walk under the pines. However, the staff was cold and not welcoming. The proprietor (a woman) was very cold. Once we decided what dishes to order, we asked them to take our order, then we discovered that what we had ordered had been sold. The surprise came later when we saw this same dish on other tables that came next to us. This was not the only error, after ordering a salad with arugula, Parmesan and strawberries, my wife did not find any of the strawberries . After discussing the incident with the homeowner, she replied that they were very small and could be mixed with the arugula. I had to be serious to say that the strawberry red would stand out with the rocket green. We just had an excuse for her, and she didn 't say goodbye when we left. The problem with these places is that if the staff isn 't nice, the time you spend there (even though the food and place are great) doesn 't leave you with a good impression.

We visit Els Cacadors whenever we come to Macenet. Our last visit was two years ago and the food is still consistently good, especially the watermelon gazpacho with gambas. Everyone in our group of friends has enjoyed their meals here. Please visit and have both traditional and modern takes on Catalan food.

Sat outside once it was decided which tables could be moved and which weren't wet! We all had the carre de xai a les fines herbes (lamb cutlets) and which had been recommended. Deliciously tender and succulent and washed down with an excellent Izadi Rioja which I wasn't familiar with but it was very good. Staff were very friendly and coped with our poor French/Spanish! Quite happy to return but unfortunately its unlikely we shall be in this part of the Pyrenees again.
