"Would not recommend this establishment to anyone, toilets disgusting. Food billed as set menu, served roasted bones, I kid you not it was meant to be lamb and pork which most definitely was not pork! Be warned it’s not good."

First thing; this is at the top of the road Guajar Alto, not Faraguit so just keep driving 3 miles beyond, and as you enter Guajar Alto, it is immediately on your left, with outside seating across the road to the right. Closed Mondays. Not much English spoken which is no bad thing if you want local and authentic. It is proper local, good Andalusian food. Dori and Alejandro do a great job of running the now only remaining bar and comedor in the village. The food is plentiful big portions and there is good tapas to boot. Everything is cooked onsite and you will often be tempted by the wonderful smells emerging from the kitchen. Beer is cheap and cold. Local atmosphere. Excellent wifi. A log fire in the winter, cool mostly shady, seating in the summer. Can get busy on weekends and people come from miles to walk the trails which lead out of the village, swim in the natural pool (they flood the river in the summer) or cycle up the popular climb. Enjoy.

Don't be put off by the run down look. This is a authentic locals bar that welcomes visitors. The first time we visited we just had a drink and tapas was provided. The next visit was for a meal. The soup comes in a big stainless steel bowl. The potatoes are served in the pan that cooked them. The meat is on the bone. My chicken looked like it had had a life. But it all tasted wonderful and the local wine was a joy to drink. The owner speaks no English, and we speak no more than a few words of Spanish but that's half the fun and he was great. Will definitely return when back in the area.

A group of us went there for Sunday lunch . We were served soup from a tureen which was a vegetable variety with I think spinach and cubes of fatty pork floating around in it . Then we had leg of lamb which was overcooked in a black sticky gravy. The poor mans potatoes served with it were ok. The place is basically a country pub with an eating area . It was full of local men drinking and being noisy . Trying to talk while the tv was on in the corner. So I would not go there again for a meal . I might stop over for a drink. But there are lots of nicer places in that area .
