The service here was only soso. The food, while plenty, was not so good, the decor was cheap and uninteresting.

We visited after seeing the good reviews on trip advisor. We chose a few beers from the 15+ on the menu and were informed they only had 2 beer options. We ordered our food and worryingly heard the microwave turning on and off a lot. I could see the microwave from my seat and its safe to say the majority of our food went through it at some point. Our appetiser was microwaved baguettes with tortilla dips which we found strange. I had the chicken fajitas for my main which tasted OK despite being very dry. My partner however had the "delicas de Yucatán" which was recommended by the miserable waitor and also happened to be one of the more expensive items. The soup was good but the rest was microwaved meat that spent more time in your teeth than your stomach. We both left half our plates which never happens and we left hungry. For the 125 peso price you can get 4 or 5 star food in the other 5 or 6 places I've reviewed in Merida. Avoid this tourist trap!

Authentic and very high quality restaurant in Merida. Friendly service, not. too touristic and reasonably priced. Habanero serves mostly traditional Yacatan dishes. The Yucatas Especial platter is great, and the fresh made quacamole is definately the best we have had so far in Mexico!

We've had dinner here on previous trips to Mérida and always enjoyed it. See our earlier review. On this occasion, Tawie ordered the Fajita de Pollo but was soon told they had no chicken. She went with the Fajita de Res which was flavorful but tough. I went with the (forgot the actual name but it was) the Yucatecan sampler. My meal was really enjoyable with the exception of the fairly rotten lemon as a garnish in the center of the plate. Top it off with an AC/DC live video being played through the entire meal as we sat under under the loud TV, and we left irritated. Don't get me wrong; we like rock 'n roll but we couldn't hear each other. When asked to turn it down, they did......for a minute or two.

TA listed them moderately high with a lot of favorable reviews so we gave it a shot. Interesting layout with open view of the busy kitchen. Waiter was prompt and efficient. Food left a little to be desired, acceptable but not outstanding. In Mexico you should never be served stale tortillas, fresh or fried however. Biggest concern was with slightly elevated prices and good reputation the restrooms were disgusting. Never mind direct impression / comfort of clientele, it's a huge turn-off to realize there is no soap or running water where the food prep staff cleans up.

We were walking through downtown Merida when we came across this place. We hadn't had lunch yet and it was almost 4pm. Kids (10 & 8) and the 2 adults were starving. Looked up Tripadvisor as we passed each restaurant and this had good reviews. We decided to give it a try. We don't speak Spanish, so the waiter was nice enough to explain the dishes. The kids had the chicken fajitas which was very good. We had the Pollo Afrodite and a side order of Guacamole. Absolutely loved it !! A very small and simple place which excellent food !! We wish we could have visited it again before our return. Highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed !!

We decided to eat at this restaurant after waiting for another restaurant that was packed. We are glad we did. The food was delicious and the margaritas were poured with a heavy hand. Prices were good, around $20 for two with 2 plates and 2 good margaritas. The salsa with the chips was spicy and good!!!

We had dinner here twice on our recent trip to Playa del Carmen. The happy hour is a good deal with 2x1 beers and margaritas (along with some other cocktails). Try the tamarindo margs! Food-wise, the Pollo Afrodite, their signature dish, is incredible, but an unexpected treat was the vegetarian pizza. Available in four sizes, it consisted of a variety of roasted veggies on a thin crust and was so delicious! On Tuesday nights, ladies get a 25% discount, so even though my husband and I shared a pizza, we still got the discount, making this a very cheap place to eat 'za! Atmosphere is only average and waiters could be more friendly, but the food and specials make this a good place to try in the city.
