On an overcast Saturday morning, with a forecast of rain in the afternoon, we walked past Meson El Pou and my wife said that she had often wanted to try it because it is perched prettily above the harbour with outside tables I’m seemed ideal,...with tables inside in case it rained and a Menu de Dias at €16, so we booked for a late lunch On arrival it was raining and too cold to sit outside so we took our reserved table inside among two other couples. The two young servers were professional, polite and spoke good English My wife’s Prawn and Avocado was ok and my Mussels Vapour was really nice served with lovely hot rolls, alioli and tomato. We both ordered the Hake which arrived, as described, sitting in a fish soup with rice. If it was Hake we then they had been illegally fished as there were four small tails of a small white fish not Merluza but tasty enough My wife had a postre of creme caramel unfortunately only slightly warm and of a weird consistency but the chef had just departed… A nice offer of complimentary digestive rounded off a two star dining experience Let’s hope it’s not raining for our next lunch and we stick with Del Mar (which sensibly hadn’t opened)
