Akara Lopesan Baobab reserva

Akara Lopesan Baobab

Calle Mar Adriático, 1, Meloneras I-35100, España, Spain

just returned from an amazing week in their resort. all staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful during our 7 overnight we could not ask for more. we have a private transfer (via our TUI booking), which leads around 25 minutes and its autobahn to the maspalomas. the resort itself simply amazing! has 8 pools to choose which a lazy flow (probably takes about 30 minutes to swim around). good thing to have so many pools are some (bigger ones) allowed balls and lilo’s etc) and some just a chance to relax in a more quiet environment. the personal of the reception was very helpful in the arrival and it was nice to get a free glass champagner when we arrived. for breakfast, lunch and dinner there are two areas. the restaurant baobab (only under the recipe) has breakfast, lunch and dinner. in the meantime the resturante marula is only for break and dinner. both have a lot of space and so much to choose. we had the full board, but if their half board they can also buy food at the pili pili (next lazy river) or the akara (located in the richard burton bar), but they can buy their food in one of the restaurants. so many bars inc: henry stanley bar, dossier bar (located for all shows) mungo bar (under the water fountain,) samuel baker (inside/outsde next to the reception) and our favorit the richard burton bar that shines over – one of the pools and two beautiful trees that light up at night. the richard burton bar also has a home live band (the rafikis,) which are excellent. the live shows were great where most were in the dodori bar, but one was outside on the plaza marimba and included: queen tribut, lion king live, circus etero, caffe del mar, turn up funk and jersey boys. the personal was always walking around to make sure they didn't have to wait to order a drink. our room was a perfect size (3 people) a lot of space and included a walk in shower, air conditioning and a lot of space for clothes. we had a ground floor space so our outside area was even bigger and a 10 second walk to one of the pools. there was a minibar that we did not use, but it was convenient to put a few bottle of still water out of the super market. there was a television, but no itw or bbc only sky news and bloomberg for Great Britain. the room was always very clean every day the house business worked so hard. they would come twice a day to clean the room. once in the morning and later on the afternoon to add some nice Lindt chocolate and "Turn-down" service. our housekeeper was: anny b urrego and she was amazing! outside our room (front door) we have four small pools full of fish and beautiful turtles, this was so nice to swim every day with the surrounding music in the background. the whole hotel is African thema and the decor was fantastic, especially when they go from the entrance with sounds of wild animals and orange lighting. in the night the resort comes to live with so much where they can choose to cool over each of the bars or watch the live shows. During the day, the resort is surrounded by some beautiful trees, including orange and mango trees and so many different sorts. there are model animals around the resort, among them: elephants, giraffes and zebras, who were great for pictures. in relation to the sunbeds we had never had problems finding one, of course between 8 and 9 o'clock it begins to be busy. if they have difficulty finding one, the employees are on the hand to find a place for them. if they wanted to move to one of the 8 swimming pools later on the day, after 3 o'clock we always found some close to the “Lazy River”. outside the hotel is approx. 5 minutes to walk to the super market and next to an indoor shopping center that leads you directly to the promenade. this takes approx. 10 minutes from the hotel and includes various trendy shops and cafes/bars, which are at any time on foot during the day, but great in the night to see the sunset and a lively atmosphere. the beach is about 15 minutes to walk on the left side of the el faro lighthouse, which has a lot of space and goes for a few miles, in which I did think it goes all the way to playa del ingles? also along the beach is the famous maspalomas dunes, which is a place to see. I would recommend a stay here all staff members anywhere they go!
