"I recently bought a round cake for my wife 's 50th Birthday. The cake was ordered on July 2nd and was picked up nearly two hours later. I saw a nice round one in L 'Affaire 's refrigerator which displayed Red, White and Blue designs. I ordered a fresh one with the same color theme to compliment the July 4th Holiday Weekend. The cake was to include a strawberry preserve filling and whipped cream frosting. That night at my wife 's birthday party, a few of our many guest received a piece of cake. Three of guests immediately complained about the freshness of the cake and each stated that the cake was dry not moist. Others hesitated and decided to taste the three pieces cut and had also complained that the cake was not completely fresh with the exception of the filling. When I called the following week I spoke to a female who took my number and stated someone would call me but no one had. I called a few days later and the same case, another female answered and took my information but no one would call me back. After the fifth call, I received an unknown call from a caller and the person breathed on through phone but said nothing then hung up after I repeatedly announced who I was then asking, Who is calling ? . I called the number back but no one would pick up. Today on Saturday, July 16th of 2022 another woman answered and stated that the owner would return my call. I received a call while cooking breakfast so I returned the call. I finally spoke to the owner who declared that she would make me a cake when I needed it then immediately spoke to me saying she took the order so the cake was made fresh but in fact it was not because it was dry as if old and had filling added to appear fresh. The day I ordered the cake a woman other than the owner stated they had two round cakes with the Red, White and Blue design. One with a chocolate filling and one with just butter cream. The frosting on my wife 's cake tasted like butter cream not whipped cream. My guest is they provided us a cake already made to pass it off as a fresh cake and wrote on it to save them time and money. The owner denied the cake not being freshly made and declined to make another cake for me nor refund the $35.00 they charged me for the cake then hung up on me. I will never revisit this bakery nor will I recommend this business to any one. You are better off going to Shop-Rite for a nice cake that isn 't overly priced and made fresh or some other reputable bakery. The female owner is both dishonest and unprofessional. Save yourself the trip, money, the disappointment and headache."
