"General There was something to celebrate in the family, and for this occasion we had reserved a table at the Am Posthorn restaurant. With five people we met there when I arrived, my children were already there. Operation I had hardly taken any place at the two tables, when an operation came to the table and distributed the menus. From a recording of the beverage orders, she first looked, but came back to the table a few minutes later. The restaurant was occupied at this time (approximately 18:30 at about 80, yet the one operation had everything well under control without any noticeable waiting times or delays. Then, from case to case, the head of the house, Mr. Walther, still intervened in support. Both were very friendly and accommodating, with the boss a nice conversation developed further during the evening. He explained to us that there would be no convenience in this restaurant, no “pumps or packages”. The Hollandaise to the asparagus, of course, was also beaten up and could therefore not be “hot” (water bath!) what had already been proclaimed by previous guests. The normal card can be viewed completely on the restaurant's homepage: [here link] I have not found the additional season ticket with the asparagus dishes, so I can only report in part without price details what we have eaten in detail. My daughter-in-law ordered asparagus soup from the season card and as a main dish the posthorn pan (15,20 € , my older son the small portion of asparagus with pork medallions. My daughter chose Cordon Bleu “Hindenburg” (14.60 €), but asked to leave the spice cucumbers. My youngest, currently on Veggie-Trip, ordered “Frish Tagliatelle in Ratatouille Vegetables” (€10.90). After a reasonable waiting period, the boss personally brought the asparagus shed, he took the opportunity to negotiate with my son. The pork medallions are no longer available, whether they can instead roast a steak to the asparagus. My son agreed, and Mr. Walther disappeared again towards the kitchen. The asparagus soup was relatively thin from the consistency, it was just a (probably cooked on the bowls themselves and no asparagus soup. The short cut asparagus pieces in it still had distinct bite, the whole tasted excellent. When the emptied soup plates were removed, the main dishes were served shortly afterwards. A neat portion of ribbon noodles was crowned by a beautiful harp ratatouille vegetables, on the next plate a beautiful piece Cordon Bleu with the bacons and a neat portion of fries, which also seemed fresh and crisp from the distance. The “small” portion of asparagus was not so small, and the steak offered as compensation to the pork medallions was not exactly small. My son, after all, an adult naval officer, had to fight. And I really don't need to write to the post horn pan, but this is the first criticism of this house on this platform. So dear readers, look at the picture, go to the posthorn and order the pan. Per se nothing special, this compilation often exists with three different steaks, vegetable selection and roast potatoes. But the execution makes it, this pan is simply brilliant. roast the meat to the point, tender and juicy, the vegetables bite-resistant and fresh, roast the roasted potatoes cleanly and dressed with the correct amount of bacon and onions – already when writing, the water goes back to my mouth. The ambience This is the only weakness of the restaurant when you look for weak points. The approximately L-shaped guest room is quite large and slightly structured, there are quite many large tables for up to 8 people. There's the sports restaurant that was meant for some bigger groups. On a floor covered with reddish square tiles diagonally tiled, furniture made of dark wood, most tables quite large and partly covered with fabric tablecloths. The squares were covered with paper napkins and cutlery, with tea light in the glass as well as salt and pepper mills in modern style. Cleanliness The restaurant area was very clean, even plates, glasses and cutlery did not give rise to complaints. I felt the toilet quite tight, but the facility was up-to-date (soap and towel dispensers worked contactlessly, technically fine and perfectly clean."
