"On the penultimate March-Friday 2019 we drove to a family meeting through the Saxon porcelain town of Meißen and made a stop. After the city walk, I wanted to climb up and then descend from 193 steps to the turret of the Frauenkirche. After that, the time had come for famine. Originally, my treasure planned the visit to the market-placed rat cellar. But when I crossed the map in front of the outdoor area of the wine cellar restaurant St. Benno (just with my eyes! these eyes read something about fried panned bloodworms with kegher and green peas, and my wife’s lunch plan was changed “in mutual agreement”. The house has a really original long story. Benno, Bishop of Meissen (1066 – 1106 is said to have built a house in front of the city at this point, the remains of a previous building have been found. Whether this has something to do with the name of the restaurant, you could accept it... We boot in and are received in the vaulted guest room as probably today's last noon guests still typically super nice and friendly. I barely heard the dialect, and I immediately felt home. The map is rather quite clear, but offers soups, salads next to vegan, meat, wild and fish dishes and desserts. I was already finished with my choice anyway, so my lunch dish was clear with fried panted blood sausage with kegher and green heir felt for 10.90 euros, and there was a Saxon lens soup and a beer for the non-power driver, which had been driven down to the appetizer in terms of volume. My treasure chose a starter salad and the Burger Sandwitch. It consists of grilled beef chop steak in a trebertoast with cheese, salad quince beef and homemade BBQ sauce for 14,90€. So it was not a burger, the trebertoast were two slices of fried whole grain bread, outside cross and inside soft, totally delicious. She got a Ginger Ale under driver conditions as a thirst quencher. The food tasted great. First I thought my portion was quite small, but ultimately I had to do everything after the little bite. My wife was also oversawed. The service was typical Saxon, nice and friendly. Since we were the last lunches, there was also a little chat about food, land and people. Cook and service left their lunch waiting for us, so they eat their own snacks, so I like to see something like that. The room design was reminiscent of the restaurant name, wine cellar. For this, I have a thick recommendation and full score."
