The boneless rib bites were just average. It seemed like the honey garlic sauce came straight from a large industrial container. The jerk chicken sandwich, on the other hand, was quite good. As for the Halifax Donair, it was decent. Having enjoyed many authentic Halifax donaires in the actual city, I can say it was a fairly good rendition, though it could have used more sweet sauce and tomatoes/onions. The meat was passable. The service was friendly and attentive, but the food took a while to arrive, likely due to the busy atmosphere. The outdoor deck is a lovely spot to relax, and the interior has a charming, well-worn vibe.

The atmosphere was great. It has a lot of space for the kids to run around while waiting for their food. Unfortunately, the food and service don't match the atmosphere. The food was average pub food that could be so much better. The server was ok but not great. Would I visit again? Maybe for some beers but not for the food. I know there are not many options for food in Sooke, so only go if you have no other option.Kid-friendliness: There is a big open area to play and there are also games for the kids to play.

My wife and I cycled 40 kilometers to 17 Mile House Pub and my pedal assist bike battery was running very low on energy. I asked a young man outside if I could borrow some electricity to charge my bike. He set me up. Later after having lunch, we found out he was the manager (Ken). Ken also sold me the shirt off his back, not really but I did purchase a Tee shirt. Thank You Ken and the staff for excellent service and one beautiful Pub. I hope we can visit again. Tom

It's a lot of money for poutine but a unique experience, so I do beleaf it's worth it. They serve Guiness, which is a delight, and you really get a sens of the Irish interpretation of hospitality. The Soup of the day was delicious as well. I did however encounter a bear in the parking lot, so maybe bring a ranger. We will definitely come back, thank you 16 smile pub! Reserva una mesa ahora

As for the vegetarian options, the Mediterranean flatbread was exceptional. The garlic bread was also very good. The Thai soup with chicken didn’t quite taste like traditional Thai soup; it resembled beef barley with Thai chilis, but it was still tasty and had a nice spicy kick.

This is a wonderful little gem. I really appreciate the atmosphere of the historic building, and the patio is so open and inviting. The servers and staff were fantastic. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend stopping by for a drink or a bite to eat.

I like how old this building is and all of its history. The old booths and uneven floors. Nice staff, a favorite with the locals. The food is okNothing special but good.

I Can’t even explain how much I love this pub! Sookapalooza on July 22, was EPIC! And I just brought home bowls of Guinness lamb soup/stew. Wow! So delicious!! Reserva una mesa ahora

Disappointed to be honest, food was average but not cheap, looks like a pub for locals wouldn't bother again.

Such an historical atmosphere serving up excellent food. Not far off the highway with easy access.
