Didn 't eat or stay for a drink as the website listed a full vegan and vegetarian menu which both looked amazing but were not available for our booking. The server said these were not available and were only advertised as out of date sample menus, which I thought was very misleading.There was not a vegan or gluten free option or any reference to 'can be made with or without ' on the menu on offer, which seems very out of touch when many people have different dietary and lifestyle.Poor still wine menu with no premium wine except a Chateauneuf-du-Pape.We were very much looking forward to an excellent dinner after reading the great reviews but sadly left without a meal.

Fantastic food and polite, attentive staff. Between the 4 of us we had many dishes off the menu and all were wonderful. Some inventive cookery and flavour combinations but with some more classic options if you are feeling less adventurous. The variety and seasonality means I would happily go back again many times.A very fair price for such high quality cooking.My only criticism is that the dining room still feels exactly like an Indian restaurant and could do with some personality being added into it maybe some art on the walls?

Refreshing to see an exceptional restaurant with great food and service in EG. I would go as far as saying the food is at Michelin star level without the price.Food portions are perfect, giving you enough space to accommodate a starter, mains and desert with pallet cleansers in between. Service was very attentive but not overly so.Definitely deserves a few revisits to sample the other dishes. I’d go as far as rating this as the number 1 restaurant in the EG vicinity.

My dining experience at Restaurant 186 this evening was exceptional. The service was top-notch and the food was incredible. The presentation was stunning and the flavors were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning.

Without doubt the finest restaurant I have ever eaten in. Not really for everyday meals, but for occasions, wonderful. My anniversary meal was enhanced by the attentive staff and superb service. If you want quality, the place to go.

I had a fantastic meal at this restaurant last night. Everything from the appetizers to the dessert was perfect. East Grinstead is fortunate to have such a wonderful dining establishment. I will definitely be coming back.

Superb. Would have paid triple for the same meal at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Front of house is very casual, and the staff are nice, but it’s the food you come for.

The Sunday set menu with 3 courses for £25 is fantastic. The service and food were excellent, and the staff were friendly. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
