Came here for the first time. We walked in at 330, no one around, we made our way to the bar where there was someone working. We sat at a table, only one in there. Service was great. I ordered a salad, husband ordered a burger. Huge burger -looked great he said it was awesome. I ordered a salad. Lettuce was brown. I ate the croutons. The server asked if I was done, I said yes the lettuce was brown. She said Isee that I will let them know as she walked away. No apology. Also, during our meal, sounded like a business being meeting being held right behind my head. Our waitress, and maybe 2 managers. Totally could have taken it else where, instead of right beside or table. We were the only people there!!! Found the experience quite unpleasant. As we walked out, same manager was at the host stand. We walked right by, not a word was said, no Good bye, thanks for coming in, have a good night shows they do not appreciate customers.

Here is a restaurant with a balanced menu, a friendly staff, and a chef that will visit your table (thank you for baking and hand-delivering a birthday cake). On top of this, add a view of thermal-steaming watercourses carving through pastureland of the Carson Valley, a backdrop of the Pine Nut mountains, and paint in a few happy little trees. This is not the run down junker of late, struggling to stay relevant. This is the gem of local history, steeped with well over a hundred years of western spirit, and aspiring to keep the simple and effective charm and service of 1862 alive, well, and ready for a rush. Here's to the next roughly 161 years. Cheers!

We went for brunch on Mother's day and the food was awful. The prime rib was flavorless and fatty. The rest of the food was dried out and our waitress was the worst. She acted like it was an inconvenience for her to do anything for us. They added a $150 gratuity even though we complained and didn't think she earned that. We will never go there for brunch again.

The staff was as amazing as the atmosphere. We came for Mother's Day Brunch and were treated so nice unfortunately the buffet for $65 per person was not good. Mediocre food for way too high of a price.
