I went to 5 Stars Hue Restaurant with friends and family multiple times. The delicious dishes here always keep me coming back for more! Whenever I am craving vietnamese food, I grativate toward this restaurant. Every dish comes packed with flavor and it makes everyone happy! If you are a first time patron here, definitely try the Banh Beo, Spring Roll, and Bun Bo Hue. These three dishes are what keep me a loyal patron you just have to try it! We visited on a Sunday just before noon. We first tried the one in Alhambra but it was closed. It shouldn't have been but with the pandemic still happening, we figured it was staff shortage or they need to update their Yelp online hours. This one is in Rosemead, just a few miles east. I miss their location in Diamond Bar that closed down. I'm sure there may be better places to find banh beo and other banana wrapped specialties, but this place doesn't disappoint. Their pho is also good they only serve one kind) making it a one stop shop that will fix almost all your vietnamese cravings. The nuoc nam is spot on with the perfect amount of umami and sweetness. My favorite is their chewy tapioca with dried shrimp #15). Prices are fair and my only gripe is that they charge $0.50 per person for iced water. Nothing special about the water...just iced water in a cup.

5 Stars is one of the several Vietnamese restaurants in El Monte. I ordered takeout, and it was ready right on time. I tried the Goi Cuon Tom Thit, which came with two spring rolls for $7.50. They were decent and fresh, but I thought it was a bit pricey for the portion size. The 5 Stars Pho, priced at $14.50, had good broth and quality meat, although I'm not a fan of meatballs, and this was the only pho option available. Lastly, I had the Bun Ho Hue Large for $14.50, which had a nice spicy broth. I really enjoyed the knuckle, and the portion size was generous.
Despite the negative reviews and low ratings on Yelp, I believe this restaurant deserves a positive nod. While it may not be the absolute best Vietnamese restaurant, their traditional appetizers are definitely worth a try! I always return for their Banh Beo and some delicious dishes wrapped in banana leaves!
We ordered bun Bo hue, banh hoi, and nem nuong. Bun Bo hue has no flavor of what bun Bo hue should be. The broth is sweet and lack the umami. The meatballs were so sweet.
My favorite spot for Nem Nhuong rolls is incredible, and I absolutely adore their dipping sauce—it's a peanut sauce bursting with flavor.

Authentic and cheap. It's a Diamond in El Monte. I will keep going there ! Clam salad is great !!
