619 Cantina - Reserva de mesa

I recently moved to the area and have been on the search for a good Taco Tuesday spot; this is not it. I wasn 't thrilled that I had to take my own order using the wax pencil and marking up the menu. It was not clear how to order the specials or how to note I wanted something served as an appetizer. I also wasn 't excited to pay $9.50 for chips and salsa, something every other Mexican restaurant serves for free, and the chips we did receive were stale. I ordered chicken tacos, the chicken was so bland, it had absolutely no flavor. My friend had the veggie burrito, he did enjoy that. 619 Cantina is not a Taco Tuesday destination. Per the owner the food is California (Cal-Mex)/Tex-Mex style Mexican food. As a Cali/Vegas native it’s nothing short of a high priced Chipotle. Actually Chipotle is better. I ordered carne asada tacos that lacked flavor (absolutely no saźon), little to no meat, more like shredded beef. The salsa selection is terrible. The Salsa Verde is the texture of puréed Kiwi and has no flavor or spice. I’ve given this place more than one chance and was disappointed every time. The owner (young blonde w/ a Tesla) is very offended when patrons do no care for their flavorless food. Very defensive to say the least. The vibe does not give Taco Tuesday… where is...

California Comfort Hits Portsmouth: A Review Having lived in San Diego for seven years, I consider myself a bit of a Cali-Mex connoisseur. And let me tell you, this place is the real deal. The portions are incredibly generous, especially for the price. This was the second time I came into this restaurant this month. Showed up with co workers the first time and thought the family would enjoy so I brought them. Service was slow both times .. Either hire two people to mange tables and the bar. But having one person doing it all is crazy. Which actually is more irritating for customers. Leaving in a worse mood then walking in because service was slow. The food was ok the second visit. Spending over $120 total was not worth this restaurant, nor the service provided for a 2 adults and 2 children. Definitely better off going to a Mexican restaurant. Margaritas house and strawberry were ok but weak , $7 and $8 was not worth the 6 ounces they gave...

Great lunch!!! The burrito was more than enough. I got the California Burrito which was amazing. I subbed the sour cream for the 619 cantina white sauce! He food was served in perfect time for me to eat and walk back to work with my 1 hour lunch break! I say on the patio which was even nice on a rainy day as there was enough overhang to not be rained on.

We just moved back to the area and we're super excited to visit an old favorite, but we left highly disappointed. The food was very expensive, but the quality was on the same level as chipotle. Both my husband and I realized they gave us carnitas instead of carne asada. It was just very bland and way too expensive.

I waited 10 minutes before I was acknowledged in the establishment. I understand the young lady was working with her other customers but she waited until I started looking for someone else’s help before she acknowledged me saying she would be with me Reserva una mesa ahora

Huge burritos, friendly staff. I lived in Coronado for a while and this place is pretty close to the burrito joints I frequented back there!

Amazing food. The nachos are loaded like crazy. The burritos are build your own and huge.
