Big thing is this joint has no liquor. For me, a pub in the US without Irish whiskey is just not the same. Barkeep tried twice to make half and half. After I watched her throw one away, I said just give me the second one. Had fish and chips and regular burger with cheese and onion rings side. Fish was decent, fresh and hot, but possibly over cooked. A little greasy. Chips were hot and fresh and delicious. Everything needed salt. Burger was well done. We asked for mid rare. it tasted ok though. Onion rings were awful. Greasy and they all had batter busted open, and the onion that was barely inside anymore, was burnt to a crisp. Like paper. This is a great place to visit my wife and I happen to visit San Francisco on a quick trip. We have an amazing time in this restaurant/pub , Sara is just good what she does. Sara is the reason we have breakfast every morning. The food is amazing, good flavors and good service. I'm very picky about my coffee, but it was pretty good coffee. My wife wanted to try out other places, but it wasn't the same. I appreciate Sara at Sutter Pub very well that we'll be back soon.
Very nice staff. A cute little place inside and has nice outdoor seating options in sun and shaded). I went for happy hour. Nice $5 $6 draft beers. The Stellas came in a Stella cup which is a nice touch. My friend loved his jalapeño burger and I enjoyed my chili cheese burger $16). It wasn’t overwhelming and falling apart. The fries were thick cut and done well. Good nachos. The restroom is single occupancy and nice and clean.
We were going to have dinner here, but got tired, so order it to go. While waiting, sat at the bar and had a great cider in a very lively atmosphere. Food didn't take too long, so had to slam the rest of the cider and was on my way. For take out, all ofthe fried food was still crisp by the time we ate it which was surprising. Great fish and chips, not overly battered and full offlavor.

At night when the game is on, this place is a sports bar. In the early afternoon, this place feels like a high end restaurant with amazing food though the price is very reasonable compared to other restaurants nearby. Full bar with draft beers and many other liquors, bar snacks or full entrees, this place is a must go in town.
I came across this place...and I was finally happy!!! I suggest you stop in and check it out if you want a quick bite or drink at a decent price! It was yummy! I had the California chicken and added mixed greens instead of lettuce and extra pesto aioli...was fantastic!
This is one of those places we go to every time we are in San Francisco. Burgers are outstanding, servers are fantastic, fun cable car outdoor seating doubles the capacity of this tiny, and incredible, pub.
Really enjoyed my visit to this relaxed, friendly bar. (Some of the most comfy bar stools I’ve ever encountered! Solid beer selection. Took away a cheesecake, which was also very good and well presented.

This place is a Gem! Great selection of beers and cocktails and the food is great. The Guinness is iced cold, and the California chicken sandwich is fresh and flavorful! Highly recommend!
Nice little classic pub a wonderful lemon drop cocktail and shepherd's pie and burgers are amazing! One of the best burgers we've had in a while. We'll be back!
