I’m embarrassed to admit that I’ve been living in Haverhill since 2018 and have always driven past this place without ever stepping inside. At first, it seemed a bit intimidating—definitely a local favorite. However, the staff made me feel completely welcome. The deli has a charming old-school vibe, with trays and a wide variety of food options. I ordered an Italian sub, and it was fantastic. I noticed the guy behind me ordered the lamb dinner, and it looked delicious too. That’s definitely on my list for my next visit. Overall, I had a great experience, and I’m proud to be a Hillie enjoying a meal at A1 Deli. Cheers!

I enjoyed some wonderful home-cooked meals. I had the roast leg of lamb, served with mashed potatoes, peas, and corn. I also tried the chicken and rice soup, along with some bread and a cola. It was great to catch up with a friend during the meal. The corned beef dinner, featuring mashed potatoes, peas, corn, and squash, was delicious. The haddock chowder was exceptional as well.

A-1 Deli has been my favorite spot to eat since moving to Haverhill two years ago. The guys behind the counter are a riot and Paula is an absolute delight. I’ve explored the menu and I’ve never been let down. The food is always fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend to anyone who hasn’t been. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Great food, great people, low cost. The roast beef dinner is to kill for... I get a luncheon portion for dinner and can barely finish it. If you get the dinner portion, you're guaranteed to take about half of it home with you, which will make your doggy happy. The fish and chips is among the best in the Merrimack Valley too. Best home cooked meals on the menu !!! I love the food here and the staff are very attentive and sweet! Thank you for the many years of good eats! I finished college in Haverhill and moved out the area but always come back to visit and grab a plate !!

The omelet was enormous and cooked to perfection! A-1 has the charm of a classic deli, complete with cozy booth seating like a diner (though there's no counter). I can't wait to return!
