À la Forêt du Rhin

We sumbled on this place by accident whilst looking for a brunch one Sunday morning. We saw a restaurant sign at a roundabout and this led us to the Foret du Rhin. If you like fast food, hamburgers, formica, modernesque surroundings and uncommitted staff, then this is not the place for you. Equally, you’ll spend a ‘few shillings’ ihere, but you’ll come away with a profound ‘Wow’ feeling. The food is cooked to order in this family restaurant and took 20 minutes, or so, to arrive, but a glass of local Alsace wine filled the gap magnificently. beautiful discovery for a torched pie restaurant. the boss assumes it, the pasta comes from a craftsman and the oven is gas-free but they are very good. We only ate some tarts on a Saturday evening (normal, gratiny, speck black forest, fresh mushrooms, munster). The interior is classic with a touch of modernity with beautiful lamps. The team is friendly and we laughed well with the boss at the end of the meal. We'll come back to taste the other dishes!

If you are looking for Alsatian food (Tarte Flambee, cordon bleu... , this is a restaurant for you. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The dishes are not very light but are very tasty and well presented. The atmosphere is cheerful and cozy.

Very lovely lunch. Trout salad and snails were fantastic. Cracking outdoor, shaded eating area. Very definitely worth a visit.
