The story of Lucia (owner and chef) is inspiring, not only for aspiring chefs, but also for everyone who believes that hard work pays off. She started over a decade ago serving menus del día (lunch menu) in Santiago de Compostela. Her dedication, food, and creativity were noticed immediately by top critics in Galicia and Spain. Located in Rúa da Tafona, this hotel is less than a 10-minute walk from Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. We were greeted by chef Lucia Freitas, who welcomed us. Small cozy restaurant overlooking the kitchen. Nicely furnished with a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The food presentation was unbeatable with ingredients from the local garden and the local market. The chef was able to record our gluten and spice tolerant friends. The wine pairing offered comes from the Riveira Sacra. Well earned Michelin Star for Lucia and her crew.

We had a great time in A Tafona. The service was faultless, the waitress and sommelier explained about the dishes and the stories behind the vineyards. They kept our table clean and were so friendly. The food was incredible, really interesting and delicious balance of flavors and all very seasonal. We had the "fast" tasting menu that was 10 courses and we were filled at the end. Would recommend.

An unexpected and pleasant surprise in Santiago de Compostela. We had the standard menu, mostly fish and local vegetables and was simply delicious. The “merluza” was the best I’ve ever had. The wine list was very interesting, mostly from the region. The ambiance cosy and minimalist and the service very friendly and attentive. For sure we will come back. Reserva una mesa ahora

From appetiters to the main dishes, everything was very nice. The layers of the food were obvious and interesting. However they could do better because the taste of the leaves was too strong for the food. Except the dessert and sweets were quite disappointing especially the green ice thing was awful. The staffs were quite nice though.

6 out of 5 stars! Absolutely incredible meal. Every dish was incredible and so different. I had the anniversary menu with 6 snacks, 12 dishes and 3 desserts. It's amazing. The mushroom shell could have been my favorite, although it is hard to choose!

Unfortunately there's no option for 4.5 stars. We had the tasting menu at e128 which was superb. The wine flight wasn't our thing...too much funkiness going on. Would highly recommend food, but choose your own wine. Reserva una mesa ahora
