We decided to stop for an early dinner at Aangan on a Wednesday and found the place empty. Literally empty, but decided to give it a go as both my son and I had a long day at work and couldn't be bothered going elsewhere, plus it was recommended by my sons friends who have an Indian background. We had some trouble deciding on meals, so the waitress made a couple of recommendations and we worked it out from there. We decided on lamb biryani, plain and garlic naan bread and a dish of chicken curry (which i can't find on the take out menu and I can't remember the name). The waitress asked how spicy we wanted the meals and we requested, authentic. In the meantime, more people started to arrive and...

Aangan Dabha has taken great pains to decorate the place in typical Punjabi style.Considering that lot was said about the restaurant, my expectations were high as far as food is concerned.I and other guests were very impressed by the decor and ambiance of the place. The place was almost full so I expected the service not be greatest. With some coaxing by my Punjabi friend we got the attention of a waiter.Food did arrive quiet promptly. And thats where superlatives for the restaurant stop. We ordered Rogan Josh -it was good but not the greatest. I have eaten better ones in a not well known Indian restaurant in a remote city Sorrell of Tasmania last week .Entrees of Papadi Chaat, Chicken Tikka...

An absolute delight. The place has an awesome ambience, has been decorated like an Indian dhaba but very clean. The service is on the mark with smiling faces. Let's get to food. We ordered papadi chat and paneer tikka as starters. The paneer was very soft and delicately flavoured. The portion size is good. The chaat was demolished by our 8 yr old so you can guess. The pitcher for lemon lime bitters is value for money. Daal makhani and Paneer Balti was our choice for mains..which were very well made. I found the butter naan could have been better...the missi roti however gets a thums up.If going on a weekend, call ahead and reserve a table or you would very well be waiting. Price for two : $8...

Four of us in the group and we have been to the other Aangan in West Footscray that we love for many years so thought we would try this one in Keilor.Different décor, very attractive once inside and the staff dressed to suit the décor. We had the Samosa Chaat for entrée, very delicious. For mains we had Butter Chicken, Lamb Korma and a house special Dal Makhani which was a lentil dish. The meals were excellent and plenty for the four of us, we also had a plain rice and Garlic Naan, we ordered 3 but 2 was plenty. BYO wine and the corkage was $4 per bottle, very reasonable. We can thoroughly recommend the restaurant. Good service and good food at a good price. Reserva una mesa ahora

First visit to this local restaurant, upon arriving was pointed to a table with a comment of "over there". Waited a while for drink and then the beer was warm but was replaced. Not familiar with Indian food found that a lot of the menu did not give description of what the food contains and upon asking our waiter he was not helpful, not even when asked for any recommendations. We ordered by saying what that table is having looks ok.The food was delicious and can recommend this restaurant on that alone.. Perhaps they can retrain their staff in customer service or may be it was a "off night"

This is my all time favorite restaurant especially for north indian chat, and dhaba by aangan on old calder hwy branch also lives up to its other two branches in Melbourne area. food was as usual great and chat platter portions were better than its other two branches, my thumbs up to 'dhaba by aangan' with great ambiance and awesome food

I was visiting Melbourne city and after a long tour, I was longing for the great Indian taste. Dhaba by Aangan at Keilor gave me that and much more. Great staff. Awesome punjabi food. Tasty mango lassi.Paneer Masaala, dalal tadka was also great. Although I am vegetarian I didn't feel left out like in all other international joints.
