Im stuffed!!! 20221223 My friend, who is Korean, always finds all kind of yummy Korean restaurants, and after he taste-tested them, he would invite me to go with him. Today, we decided to go to Abbaee Soondae, and I am so glad that we did. Their food is delicous. I ordered the pork rib, and first sip of the soup, I can taste the pork rib in the broth. The broth has so much flavor, and there was so much meat and port ribs in the bowl. I love that the broth was still bubbling when it was being served. The food was okay, but the service needs to be worked on. The staff seemed to force us to tip more than we usually would. It's only the two of us, and they made us feel guilty for not leaving a larger tip, even though the service was subpar. This behavior is unacceptable and shows a lack of respect for the customer. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The minimal service, mediocre food, and pushiness toward tipping make for a poor dining experience. Restaurants need to understand that they should earn their tips through excellent service and not try to force customers to pay more than they feel appropriate.

Just be aware, there’s a mandatory minimum 18% tip regardless of how many people there are in your company and how bad the service is. They check how much you tipped on the spot and call you out in front of the whole customers and make you feel embarrassed and force you to circle the “minimum” 18 percent tip on the spot. Soondae soup isn’t as flavorful as the restaurants that specialize in that dish. Soondae is sour and bust. I wish I had read the previous comments before I went.

Tried to make us tip more even though service was sub par.Never refilled our water, never checked up on us, had to walk up to get the check myself, also started clearing the table even though we were still finishing upTerrible experience

Server was upset cause we did not order a lof of food. We ordered two for quick small bite before the movies. The food portion was also very small for the price.. Would not go back again. Our home food tasted better kids said.

It is one of the most authentic Korean food places in the area. Their Soondae is good, but Tonkatsu is better. They should rename their name to Abbaee Tonkatsu. All other menus are great, too.

Soondae tastes and smells like plastic/vinyl wrapper. I canceled one of my orders quickly after placing it. The owner came to our table, complained, and gave me a face. What a bad experience.

The soondae was busted and tasteless. Had to dump so much salt I was surprised they specialized in it, had better soondae at H-mart.

I wish we had this in Maryland. People need to stop complaining because you can’t get better soondae anywhere else in the DMV area.

Amazing place to go eat. Highly recommended. Food is really good.
