Acquario Papa Gmbh

Acquario has been in the city centre of Essen-Steele for over 20 years. It gets really busy at the weekends and service can, because of this, be a little slower. BUT please don't let that put you off - imagine yourself in a mediterranean setting, let life takes its natural course, enjoy the really great food and wine, take it slow with friends and family and spend a few delightful hours with the Italians. I had pork medallions with the then in season German white asparagus with sauce hollandaise and beautifully cooked potatoes. Our friends had anything from the carpaccio of beef to fish and pasta. The meal was fantastic for all of us as was the wine. We had a wonderful evening. For 20 years...

Ristorante Acquario is in the center of Essen-Stelle since a lot of years. I have been there several times private with my family and also with sportclub members.The meal is good - at all. But I chose Lasagne twice in the last month - and I'm so sorry, but both times was this Lasagne the worst I ever ate. The unbelievable portion of cheese made only a big and viscose mass.Other meal like Pizza are good.The restaurant has too many tables, so it is very closely. The staff is very friendly and they serve the meal very fast (microwave ?).

In a city where there are more Italian restaurants than German ones, Acquario stands out among the crowd. Every thing was first rate - the food, the service and the wine card. I was especially impressed with the house made pasta with truffle sauce.
