We stumbled across this place by accident. We parked our car in front of a African Artifact shop. Things in the window seemed interesting, so we thought we will have a snoop, but the door was locked and a sign said we have moved to and an address where another shop appearing African just a few doors down, So went there and found that it was not a shop but a restaurant. But the restaurant owned this shop and they open as people requesting. But while we were talking about this, the smells coming out of the kitchen was just amazing. We found this cafe by accident. The menu outside the restaurant looked interesting, so we gave the cafe a try, with some reservation as almost all dishes had chilli, and my partner is allergic to chilli.We were wonderfully surprised. I am gluten intolerant and menu is perfect for those prefer to have gluten food. I have never found an Australian restaurant which serves teff (flour) bread. We found teff in Europe and it is wonderful wheat flour substitute. Indeed, I consider it to be far superior. We chose the African Village for a family lunch as we are happy to try different and unusual foods. We were very impressed with both the food and service. The meal was presented in Ethiopian tradition- flat soft pancake with dishes of spiced lamb, beef and chicken. The restaurant was clean and well organised with separate areas for relaxing and dining. The ethnic African decor felt comfortable and appropriate.Lunch was followed by an amazing cup of brewed Ethiopian coffee.Overall, the cost per person was less than twenty dollars.

Would recommend this to absolutely anyone, the food was fantastic! The staff are so friendly and accommodating and happy to answer any questions. The setting is very cozy too, my partner and I tried the Ethiopian Tea which was a great blend which not only tasted amazing was also refreshing and cleansed the palate. Reserva una mesa ahora

I don't usually write reviews, but I had to for this Ethiopian restaurant because we had an amazing night. The food was authentic and delicious – my mouth is watering just thinking about it! The staff were lovely, welcoming, and very helpful in recommending dishes. I highly recommend this place.

We had an amazing night here! I love food, this food was amazing. There was plenty for the vegetarians as well :) Thankyou so much for the kind hospitality and wonderful tastes. Everyone must try the tea and coffee after their meal, delicious!

OMG absolutely fantastic, our waitress Messi was delightfully friendly and helpful. The food came in generous helpings and was exceptionally delicious. Definitely will go again. Best African restaurant in Adelaide!!! Thank you A M

The decor is full of Ethiopian culture. The staff (and of course, Mohamed, the owner) are attentive and friendly. The food is amazing. So much variety, and you absolutely must finish with the Ethiopian coffee. Outstanding. Reserva una mesa ahora
