The staff were very nice, welcoming and helpful. A beautiful room with a roaring fire. But the afternoon tea itself was very disappointing. Very poor selection of and amount of sandwiches: three finger sandwiches each, cheese and pickle or egg mayonnaise. Also a poor selection of cakes. It felt like they were unprepared to provide this service during the winter months, as we had a very pleasant experience during the summer.
we have booked the afternoon to celebrate the birthday of my brother who falls on the Valentine's Day. the hotel contacted me to ask if we prefer not to have it, it was valentine themed, as it was a birthday party, this thoughtful act was very appreciated. we all had a very pleasant meal, beautiful location with courtesy and helpful staff . we will definitely return.
My sister and I brought our Nan for afternoon tea and had a lovely time! My Nan is usually a fussy eater but ate everything that was included. The staff were attentive, even though they were also busy with a wedding party. Soft background music was the only thing missing.

the hotel is beautiful and the sandwiches and cakes were delicious! the personal was friendly and professional and made us really welcome. the lavender crushed with couch was a bonus!
