Ajmer's Indian Restaurant

We ordered butter chicken, rice, and naan for our son. He thought it was okay, and better than other Indian restaurants we've tried. We also had rotis, chicken tikka masala (which was two stars for spiciness), and kadai paneer (three stars). We were disappointed with the flavors. Each dish lacked the expected level of heat for Indian cuisine, and the addition of sugar made it taste too sweet. The rotis were good, but the carrots in the sweet paneer were undercooked and did not pair well with the rotis. Overall, the food fell short of our expectations. It may be a good option for those looking for a imitation of Indian dishes, but it did not meet our standards.

omg remembers the butter chicken that served ajmers in the 1990s? I was totally more regular for the departure at her old address. I couldn't even dare to try another court, it was so good. I went back a few years ago when I was living on the other side of the world, but it was very different. what happened? had the children taken over or replaced a new cook the old one. I would give everything for the recipe. I cooked dozens of butter huhn recipes, but no one can fit the old ajmers butter huh. sad to hear that it is not the same

This was the worst Indian meal I've had in many years. The tepid Rogan Josh sauce tasted like a peppery oxtail soup. The fish masala involved some sort of fish morsel that had perhaps last seen water a year ago? The two vegetable dishes we...ordered tasted exactly the same, only differing slightly with their vegetable selection. To have paid this much for such a meal is a joke. Will never be ordering from here again

We always enjoy our meal at Ajmer's. The sauces really elevate the dishes! Our favorites are the lamb korma, butter chicken (amuse), chicken tikka, and lamb rogan josh. The saffron rice, daal, and simple roti are also delicious.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. Their butter chicken and fish masala are fantastic. I visit them frequently because I love the beautiful atmosphere. It's conveniently located near Mosman. Highly recommend it.
