2 1/2 stars This is a really tough review to write. Until recently, I had such a positive opinion of Alba. I grew up a mile or two away from it and have a lot of pleasant memories of coming here when it was smaller and utilized the cute little gazebo and stone walled tasting room closer to the street. It's a place I have recommended countless times to people as a selling point of an area of NJ that often gets overlooked and/or isn't known at all. Went for a private tour with a small group and the place was gorgeous. Everyone was very polite. They offered water to us while we were waiting and our guide (one of the family members/owners) seemed very passionate about the company. There 's both inside and outside seating and you can see acres of fields. They had a live band playing inside even though no one was listening inside. At the tour, it was not super structured but led by one of the family member/owners. It 's not a very long or extensive tour and you don 't walk too much. We stopped at this winery on the border of New Jersey leading into Pennsylvania. We are trying something new and making sure we stop and try a minimum of one winery in every state that we drive through. I found this one online and said let's stop here. I missed something that they require you to be 21 years of age to enter. I asked if they can accommodate my 18 year old son. They said since it's outside and only one couple outside is fine. She said as long as he doesn't climb on the rocks. I said that's 100% not going to happen. She said last week they had to yell at 18 year olds for doing that exact thing. We came to Alba for the Lobster Bake on the 4th of July. It was our first time visiting Alba Vineyards. We ordered 2 flights: 1 Regular $22 and 1 Grand Reserve $32. The flights were served in plastic containers. In my opinion, it 's difficult to sample wine in plastic anytime) along with it being almost 90 degrees . I 'm sure the owner doesn 't sample their wine in plastic). Plus, I feel for those prices, a souvenir vineyard glass should 've been at least given like other NJ and other US wineries. I do plenty of wine tastings. Over time I understand things change however, not drastically. By no means should a wine tasting here be $45-$55 depending on your choice. Not only is it expensive, they are not super hospitable there. During our trip my wife and I were the only 2 there and the staff was not very engaging. Another big issue for us is they are the farthest thing from kid/family friendly, not even on their outside events. I've been tasting in the finger lakes with much better wine and wasn't nearly as expensive.

Do you like drinking fruity vinegar water? Do you want to be treated with disdain by the staff while you choke down something that they 're trying to pass off as wine? Do you want to pay lots of money for a cover charge, tasting and food ? Then this is for you. The old woman working the tasting counter is hateful and should not be working the front of house, especially since she only likes people who are the same color skin she is

As of now this is hands down my favorite Vinyard in New Jersey. I'm a big Napa Cab guy and their Cab Frac is out standing. This is by far my favorite wine at Alba but some of their other reds are really good as well. Food is outstanding and the family that runs the Vinyard are just really good people. Kids are not welcome here and that's fine with me. Just a lovely place to have a glass of wine and relax.

We went on my birthday for grill night. We had the caprese salad, swordfish with watermelon mint cucumber salsa with zucchini and yellow squash. It was so so good! Amazing! The wine I chose was Rosa because I don't like dry, it was excellent. The musician was a guitarist, very nice to listen to. I enjoyed everything about this experience. Thank you

This place was terrible. My fiancé and I went on a Sunday afternoon and paid almost $70 for 2 flights that came in little plastic glasses. We decided to just get a glass and walk around the grounds, they once again gave us a glass of wine in a tiny PLASTIC cup. Huge turn off. Grounds are beautiful but we will not return.

Alba vineyard has a BEAUTIFUL backdrop. But that's about it. The wine is meh. The cheese and meat platter is served on a styrofoam plate. It's a cool concept but didn't work for me.
