Alexander's Steakhouse Peoria

A friend and I went to Alexander’s Steakhouse tonight. I haven’t been there for 6 years. Sally and I always ordered the “Marinated Filet.” My friend and I both ordered that because I remember how good it was. This time the steak was only one third or one half at best the size it used to be. It wasn’t marinated, although the server said it was. I couldn’t taste that it had been marinated at all. That usually is a very obvious enhancement to the flavor. So I get a much smaller steak and the overall ticket was more than 10% over what it used to be, before tipping. I was extremely disappointed. Great steak. Really great steak. They handled our group of 60 very well. But the wine list was very short and not very well rounded. It was also quite crowded and hard to move around. Due to a lot of reservations they limited the menu of side dishes you could order, and the only options were potatoes. The salad bar relied heavily on prepared salads and actual fresh veggies were limited. It didn't make up for having no vegetable options for sides. After the meal it took quite a while to get our checks and pay, there were a lot of us, and a lot of credit cards. Would be nice to try this place again, when not dining with a large group.

To be honest, they get more to eat than they need, but eating always comes fast and it's always good. the wee is great. the staff is always friendly and attentive. overall, great place for a family meeting. expect them to pay $20 per person at least.

What a great dining experience! Cook your own steak on a wood fired grill in the dining room or have the chef cook it for you! Nice serve yourself salad bar and an excellent staff. It's a definite winner for a good steak and dining experience

Salad bar good although they no longer offer bacon on it. Bacon is now a $2 extra. Steak just average. Server was good. Salad bar is the only reason I'd return...better steaks at much lower prices at most other steak houses in Peoria area.
