We went here on our last night as it looked like the perfect special restaurant to go to. Layout and furnishings were very good although chairs on the covered deck where we were put were very uncomfortable as you kept sliding down if you leaned against the back. Menu looked high-class, with decent prices to match so was expecting excellent quality food. My partner ordered steak which was chewy and difficult for him to cut through even with the sharp steak knife he had been given. I ordered lamb with polenta, spinach, mint sauce and olive salsa. To their credit the food was top quality cooked superbly. The serving of my main was a bit small though. I was quite taken aback with the defensive condescending attitude of the manager which shocked me and was upsetting and off putting and made me uncomfortable to the point I considered leaving. Several incidents with this man on the day who seems to put his ego before customers and would seem better suited to a rough pub or building site than a fine dining venue. Our fourth visit to Alfie's and we took family members along after talking up how wonderful it is. Unfortunately this time we were disappointed. Service and staff were as always wonderful. Daughter had the beef burger for $18 which she said was delicious. Son in law husband and myself had the $39 two course lunch. What on earth happened to this? Whilst the quality and presentation and the taste was impeccable the serving size was seriously small. Entree was the beef cheeks. After a month traveling round Australia as tourists we have had some great experiences, unfortunately Alfie's was not one. My wife had the chicken breast and the portion size was very small, we might have complained and pointed out to the management, however it was not a dish she wanted more of. I had eye fillet steak, it was not terrible however the peppercorn sauce looked like it had been microwaved. An extra portion of chips with sauce didn't provide any respite, again the sauce looked like and tasted like it had been squirted from a container. I can highly recommend Alfie's Moo Char and Bar for both the quality food and excellent service. The wait staff are friendly and professional and the food was amazing. We ordered the chicken dumplings which were delicious and the steaks with the famous moo jus is a must!!It's in a great location, reasonably priced and byo is always a bonus. Alfie was there the night we went and he was so friendly and kept thanking us for coming - it was great to see that he has an interest in the restaurant and wants to hear about what his customers thought.I would 100% recommend this restaurant and I will be going back.
Took some visiting friends to Alfies in Caloundra as we live there and it was a most enjoyable evening the staff were courteous and the food was prompt and very goodYou do have to book Fridays and Saturdays and we did - got a very nice table on the deck area. If I did have a negative it was the head waiter seemed to change towards us for asking the blinds to be rolled down - it was blowing a gale at the time But all in all it was a good dining experience by all
We had the Seafood platter and would recommend this to everyone who loves seafood. The staff were very friendly and the service was 1st class. Will definitely go back for dinner when we are back in Caloundra.

We had dinner here and could not fault it. The food was beautiful and so nicely presented. The staff were so friendly , helpful and attentive. A definite must if visiting this area.
Really average foid at high prices. The location is fantastic and staff wonderful. Really disappointed
