Long winded but please read! We live about two miles from this place, and have frequented numeroustimes. On this Mother’s Day eve we went with my 14 mo old daughter at 5:5Opm like we have so many times. We call ahead to rsvp for two and a child and were told, “no need, we have room, no problem”. Upon arriving 15mins later the hostess sat us in the only booth/table available. Before we could sit, the owner came over and said a child cannot sit there with a high chair. Had a rare opportunity for my son and I to have a guys night out. Hit up longstanding local fave Alfonso 's.Started off with a mighty fine Old Fashioned. We both had the minestrone for starters. Charlie said his Chicken Piccata was REALLY good . And our server, Lupita, was spot on with her recommendation of the Seafood Special, crab and shrimp with penne, in a white wine sauce with garlic, tomatoes and chives. If you want good Italian food, any other place in Dallas is better choice. If you live on the eastside of White Rock Lake, and only want convenient Italian food, maybe this place is for you. Our food took forever to come out and was subpar when it did. One order was incorrect. We had a reservation for 6 people, but our table was not ready upon arrival. It could have been our waiters first night, as he seemed unhappy, lost and confused. You deserve better than Alfonso's!!
The food was outstanding, and the service was very good. However, the tables are a bit too close together, which makes it difficult for those using walkers or wheelchairs to navigate the restaurant. I've been here several times, and I can confidently say I've always enjoyed the food. Overall, I would give the food a perfect 5 out of 5.

I had a fantastic experience at the restaurant! The artichoke hearts were delicious, and the chicken piccata made with breaded chicken was simply amazing. They also serve the best garlic knots I've ever had. The service was excellent as well. Just a heads up, they open at 4 PM. Keep up the great work!
Service was amazing, but the owner would not stop bothering customers and being in the way while the server was trying to take my order. I have been a long time customer and have noticed this time after time. I would stop coming, but it has become a family tradition.
Mixed reviews from our outing.Chicken Parm got a great review- big portion and tasty.The rest of the food was mediocre at best.Service was not good. Once food showed up, never saw our waitress again so our table was out of water/drinks for the whole meal.
As visitors to the area, we always make it a priority to dine at Afonsos for their delightful Italian cuisine. The food never fails to impress, and the service is exceptional. We highly recommend this restaurant!

This restaurant only gets business because it is the only Italian restaurant in the area. The food is not good. You're better off going Olive Garden...not worth the expensive prices for the frozen Italian food.
