Allied Arms - Reservar una mesa

One of the great pubs in Reading. It was always a pleasant place to visit. What I would call a proper pub and a gem in a town centre location. However, since the pandemic bar staff tell me they stopped using cash. Fair enough during covid; but now they're staying cashless for good. Real money has become worthless here. A great shame and a bad decision in my view. I can't support a business that won't take cash.. it's ridiculous. It's been around for hundreds of years. CASH IS KING! I would have given 5 stars if cash was accepted!

(Visited 2022-03-19) We popped in for a quick pre-lunch pint (and a quick post-lunch pint afterwards) and found it to be a nice, bright pub. The garden is great when the weather is good. Definitely worth visiting again. Marked down a star because at the time of visit, the Gents was the smelliest place on Earth. Hopefully, that's been resolved by now!

So grateful for the moment I've spent there for our hen stag party and for how welcoming the team is. Thank you again so much for answering our call and being so nice to us. We'll be back soon!

Great little town centre pub with plenty of outdoor seating. Surprisingly good selection of bar snacks. My pint of Hullabaloo (from Loddon Brewery) went down very well indeed. Great.

Great selection of beers and ciders. Lovely building with lots of history and nice outside bit.
