I have been going to the Alpine Bakery in Smithtown at least for 40 years or more. My family and I were always very satisfied. This year for Easter I ordered a three cupcakes and some pastry via Door Dash. The Cupcakes were smaller than they used to be, (which was not that important), but they were dry and tasted stale. The Apple Turnovers were as if they were Drakes Apple pies, (not the same as before), and Linzer tart was good and filled nicely, but made rather sloppy. This is the second time I have had a bad experience. A few months ago I purchased a Black Forest Cheese Cake. It was dried out and stale I had to throw it out. I called several times and went back and forth about ordering my daughter's birthday cake. When my husband called, he received two different prices, and when I called, I got two completely different prices as well, all for the same cake. When I finally called to place the order, I wasn't surprised when they added an additional $135 to the price I had been quoted. The staff member mentioned there was some sort of misunderstanding. I asked what the extra charge was for, and it turns out that adding a name on the cake, printing a photo, and making a chocolate daisy all cost an extra $135. I’ve decided to bake the cake myself; it just isn't worth the price and the constant confusion.
Alpine Bakery is wonderful . We ordered a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream cake decorated in a woodland theme, Woodland theme cookies and Woodland theme cake pops. The cookies and cake pops were animals of the forest. I put my order in h with Kira the manager. Yesterday the cake, cookies and cake pops were exceptional. We ordered them for my daughter's baby shower. We were delighted the cake was moist and delicious, the cake pops and cookies with decorated and wonderful detail and we're just beautiful. What a gorgeous presentation it made! Well Done Alpine!I got so many compliments on the baked goods,and cake, it was so beautiful!We are very happy we will definitely be back.
Alpine Bakery has always been my favorite spot for cakes, pastries, and cookies. However, last night I went there to get a birthday cake for my brother-in-law and ended up with a cake that had handwriting more suited for a fourth grader and first-grade spelling. Who writes like that on a cake from an upscale bakery? I mean, who misspells "birthday" on a cake? I was honestly embarrassed. I would have returned it, but they had already closed for the day. Just take a look at the quality of their work.

Don't get a custom cake here. Go to dortoni instead. I got my engagement cake here 2019 and it really lacked design it looked horrible. Now order a custom cake in 2023 and wow does it look like a 5 year old slapped on the gold drip design that I happened to find out was 25.00 extra. Wow. It's so sloppy looking, I could have done better! How embarrassing of them to sell this to a customer. Certainly won't be ordering a custom cake from alpine anymore.
I have been going to Alpine for many years and they are a never miss bakery not only do they have all my favorites, but everybody is very kind and helpful. Without a doubt this is the best bakery in all of Long Island. The owner Angelo has helped me many times, and he is just a great person, and I am very happy to have known him now for many years and enjoy
Absolutely incredible service! I had the pleasure of being assisted by Sylvester, and my experience with him was more than enough to make me fall in love with this charming bakery. He is truly a gem—so patient and incredibly kind. It's reassuring to know that the staff here are as delightful as the tasty treats they offer!
I bought a cake for my fathers birthday but it was probably the worst cake I've ever had. It was 75% filling. Didn't taste good AT ALL!!! Very disappointed
