Despite having had positive experiences in the past, I will not be returning to Val's after my visit today. I ordered two pots of tea and a piece of cheesecake, which I found to have a strange consistency and taste. When I asked the waitress to take it back, I was still charged for it. When I explained that I had only taken one bite before returning it, I was told it was my choice to return it and pay for it. I found this lack of customer service to be rude and unacceptable. I will not be recommending Val's tea room to others due to the poor service I received.
This cafe is excellent! The food is delicious, the staff is amazing and very courteous, they make you feel right at home. The Pensioners Special is fantastic and definitely worth the price, with a roast dinner, a cup of tea, and a dessert. The screens between each table are high and provide a sense of safety while dining. All tables are thoroughly sanitized after each customer. I highly recommend this place.
superb caffe nice eating and great staff, very polite they make them very welcome. the Pensioners-Special is beautiful and very worth the money, frying dinner, cuppa and a dessert. very friendly screens between everyone table high, so they can feel very safe to eat here. all the tables sanitated after each customer . many of the means of living to choose. may recommend.
I went for lunch today at this tea shop, which has recently changed ownership. I have visited a few times before. The restaurant was nice and clean, the staff were very friendly, and the food was delicious. The prices were good and the portions were generous. I will definitely be returning to Wakefield again.

One of the best places for sandwiches. Great prices too. Unfortunately not so hot on coffee. prefer ground coffee if it used that I would like to give 5 stars.
